The Smith Clan happily participated and ran for a great cause.
It was the 27th Annual St. Patty's Day Dash, 4mile jaunt through Seattle!
It was a dreary day for a run, but we broke Gabe in with his first "organized run" in a memorable way -- soaking wet! He has been my biggest cheerleader this past year (Beat the Bridge 8k and Jingle Bell 5k), and volunteered him in my crazy event like the Metro Dash AND our next event, the Warrior Dash in July!
Getting ready to get our run on ... with a sea of people.
Rob, Gabe, Mennen, me, Jen, Jon
AND post run ... Wet little leprechauns!!
Me, Kelsey (so weird having a friend w/ same name), Mollie, Emi
Kyle and Gabe
Little Pandas!!!
I wasn't thrilled with my time since I have been sick all week and it was rough with lungs feeling out of "whack." I am still finishing up my round of antibiotics ..... but what-ev!! It was fun and completing it with Gabe was one for us to write down on the books. He was sweet to stay with me, but he could have shaved another 7 minutes off our 31:42 time!
I was shooting to beat my 7:30 pace from my last 8k.
Better luck next time when I'm not sicky :(

I loved running in the rain, but man it took forever to warm up afterward! We headed to TS McHughs for Irish coffees to get warm :-)
Looks like you had a great time!
It sounds like a great day & good for you "breaking Gabe in"!
Sorry you weren't as happy with your time, but you did a great job doing that while you were recovering!
You look adorbs Kelsey!
7:30 pace is awesome, girl! You guys look so cute! Running in the rain is hard, but I actually kind of like it ;)
so fun! Good work Smiths :)
That is an awesome time! Congrats! Races are so fun:)
You rock for running in the rain AND being under the weather. I would have been a total weiner. Awesome job girl!
You guys are such troopers for not bailing becasue of the rain! And I think your pace sounds really good!
You look great & that's still a great time for being sick!! I give you a ton of credit - if I didn't feel well I'd be like nope staying nice and warm in bed lol
Sick? You could have fooled me. You don't even look tired in the after pictures!
I'm on my way to the doctor's office for a 10 day supply of antibiotics this morning. I guess it's going around.
It looks like so much fun! It's time I got my butt in gear and signed up for a run. I've let winter get the better of me!
So fun to run with your hubby! :)
Hope you're feeling better!
That's still an awesome time even for being sick! Congrats on completing the race!
