For the second year in a row, Pfizer partnered with the Arthritis Foundation as a proud sponsor of the Jingle Bell Run. It was the 26th annual run/walk in downtown Seattle, and my work colleagues and besties arrived bright and early to participate in all the fun!
We were encouraged to dress in holiday costumes ...
so festive socks it was! Thanks Target!
It was a beautiful down-pour kind of day, and rained the entire day.
We looked like drowned RATS!
Although, running in the rain was fun and for a great cause to bring awareness to arthritis!

Speaking of working out ... I started my crossfit workout with a 800m sprint and crashed and burned on the gravel/cement as I weaved from the road to the sidewalk, and I do mean COMPLETELY flung forward and fell, almost on my face, but caught my fall thankfully with my right hand.
This little sucker STILL isn't healed and is an opened wound a week later. Next time, I will get a DNF (did not finish) next to my name on the white board because the fall within the first minutes and continuing with burpees didn't help the injury. It this has been really difficult trying to keep it clean and covered, so heal faster. Sadly, I am pretty sure four layers of skin were shed from the palm of my hand.

GOOD for you ladies!! I am so impressed not only that you ran it, but also that you did it in our crazy downpour. And I hope your poor hand is healing :(
LOVE your festive socks!!! And so awesome you braved the rain to run for such an awesome cause!
And ouchie about your hand... thank god you caught yourself and you're okay!! Heal up lady!!
That hand does look pretty sore! Ouch!
Look at you being a good sport and running in the rain. :) I would've been complaining the whole time.
The socks are so cute, good to see that charities make this kind of stuff fun.
Although I'm sure you falling was not fun haha.
Cute blog! following you.
Awww...hope you are feeling better and your hand is healing.
You've been a complete sport though....running in the rain is an adventurous thing to do.
Take care
Ouch, that doesn't look nice...but yay for you ladies running for a good cause.
THANK YOU! I have arthritis and am so happy to have other young women learn about and support arthritis! :)
Have you put New Skin on your wound? It burns going on but protects it. I cut my finger right on the top by my nail where no band aid would help stop the bleeding (on baby aspirin). New Skin was a savior!
How awsome that you did this! Way to go girl!
Love the socks! Good for you guys for running in the rain!
dang gurrrrrl...that fall sounds painful/kind of comical. im impressed that you finished up the burpees!
LOVELOVE the christmas socks btw. hope your hand-wound gets to healing!!! have you used neosporin??

Injuries on the palm hurt like nobody's business! You are a tough cookie! Those socks were perfect for the festive run! Hope you had fun.
And I'm no expert, but I hear Christmas cookies help with hand wounds....

I hope your hand starts feeling better! That looks like it hurt!
Running in the rain with festive socks- love it! So sorry about your hand! Hope that heals soon.
They give you a DNF? Kind of harsh. But, I guess it makes you want to never have that on the white board again!
Oh my gosh!! I hope that heals up fast!!
Congrats on the race! The festive socks are too cute! It's great to add a little flair when running:)
That is amazing... but, your poor hand! I hate getting anything on my hands because it affects everything!
