Sydney-Day 2

Our second day in Sydney was filled with
13 hours out-and-about touring the city.  We meant business!!

A local at the coffee shop told us a must-see was ferrying down and back the Paramatta River (west of downtown), then ferrying to Watson's bay (east of downtown), and take the city bus to the famous Bondi Beach (southeast of downtown).  And, that's exactly what we did!  To top off our day, we watched the sunset of the Sydney Harbour Bridge from the Opera House.  Just spectacular!

**I had to capture the names and description
of Australian Espresso for my dad - as it took adjusting to.

Here's a map to document our travels - visuals are always a good thing!

Here we are starting out our day with the most perfect weather!!

There she (the Harbour Bridge) is!!

I zoomed in with my new incredible camera to see people
climbing the bridge!  What an experience!

Before catching the ferry, we were told to grab a bottle of wine and sip-and-see while enjoying the sights on the ferry.  Sounded like fun to us, so we ventured to the wine shop and the fellow informed us that there was a $200 fine if caught with alcohol on city transportation.  SO, we decided to be sneaky, heck we are tourists after all :)

Love this guy!!!

Super windy

A guy showing off is hydro

The day was just perfect, and then I got approached by one of the friendly ferry employees to "come up to the cockpit area for a better look."  Haha, seriously, this would happen to me .... I panic and told Gabe I wasn't going up, you see, I thought my cover was blown with a splash of wine in my Hungry Jack (Sydney's Burger King) cup.  Gabe said, "It's fine!" as he gets up to follow the guy.  I was forced to follow, and I am so glad we did as we got to chill with the local ferry employees and Captain.  This always happens to us on vacation, we must be a friendly looking couple, haha!  They gave us great insight into their country, Rugby leagues, local beers to try, and more ..... Ugh, why do I always have to be a worrier!!

I could finally relax and enjoy the sights!

After taking the ferry down the Paramatta River, we took another ferry to Watson's Bay for lunch.  Hands down the best Fish and Chips I have ever had!!  The tarter sauce packets were so small, so apparently they use it as accent to a meal instead of "dunking!"

Our amazing view from the patio of Watson's Bay viewing Sydney

Who loves gelato?

I want to live on this cove!!!

Macquarie Lightstation - guided ships into Sydney Harbour

Bondi Beach

Who needs a gym with machines when you can workout with old school stations - I felt like this is where Rocky would train!

Later that evening, we made it safely back to Circular Quay
just in time for the sunset!

The Opera House at night

Our day ended with an evening on the steps.  Lots of people watching and soaking up God's beauty from another side of the world.

Hours passed ... and we could completely check out of our busy life back home and look back on the last couple years of being a Smith, talk future, and more importantly dreams for our family!  It doesn't get better than that.

Day 3 is next!
To be continued ....
