LAX on way yo Australia

Our adventure to Australia ......

Vacation started with a long layover in LAX, and this wasn't like any layover because we had almost 12 hours.  Enough to leave the airport and explore the city.  What's better than a full day somewhere, arriving at 10:30am and didn't take off to Australia until 10pm.

What to do with so much time ....
chow down on some In-N-Out as our last American meal.
(It's all the hubby asked for)

Now, I understand why there were THIRTY cars in the drive-thru.  The last time I had In N Out was probably 10 years ago, and I don't remember it tasting this good.  My girlfriend from TX now lives in LA, and she was all for meeting us when I told her I would be in Cali.  It was so wonderful seeing her, and I couldn't believe it had been six or so years since we had last hung out.  I am getting old.  Such a pleasure seeing Tiffani, and it was as if we didn't skip a beat!

Talk about bargain -- It doesn't get any cheaper OR more delicious!!

A man had the right of idea at In and Out!!
He was pouring a pepper packet INTO his ketchup, so I copied!

This might be a new regular activity for me :)

After lunch, the four of us headed to Manhattan Beach
to soak up some sun, shop, and people watch.

We walked the boardwalk and found our dream house -- Ahhh, I wish!!!

and, then we found the swings!!  We asked these kids if we could borrow it for one picture, and had too good of a time to get off.  This trip kind of aged me as I haven't been on a swing in FOR-EVER

Ready ...

Set ...

GO!!!

Then, it was the men's turn,
they were out of control, Gabe especially, as you can see!

After we got that all out of our system we grabbed some grub and a tasty beverage before the dreaded 14 plus hour flight.  Such a great way to start our vacation with some great fun with friends!!!!

Miss this girl already -- Love you Tiff and your man :)
Thanks for a fabulous time in your city.

To be continued .....

Definitely a great way to spend your time waiting for your flight! Much better than sitting in the boring airport :) I've never had In-N-Out! They don't exist on the East Coast. Love all the pics - especially the ones on the swing! haha

I have to agree with Gabe, In-N-Out is the PERFECT "last meal" before leaving the States! I always put so much pepper in my ketchup it ends up looking black...it tastes amazing but leaves LOTS of little friends in your teeth!

I can't wait to hear about your trip!
