A hard ducky life

If anyone is looking to invest in a toy company
Multipet International .... is your line!

You see ..... these duckies have had two different lives!!!

Ducky #1, on the left, is what new looks like, and
Duck #2, on the right, is the result of almost four years of fun.

Harley and Willis have torn this duck to shreds, licked it to death, and really showed it who's boss!!!!  That is not dirt on the duck .... it is just grime, which is disgusting.  Of all the toys in the house, this was their fav, but I am most impressed by the fact that the the squeaker held up until just a month ago.

This past Friday, many long hours were spent with my little-one at the vet getting an abdomen bladder x-ray, which is entirely another post in itself.  The short story is I was hoping for bladder stones to be a solution to our problem, but the x-ray left us with no answers and back to the drawing board.

ANYWAYS, like any good mother, we stopped by the pet store to pick out a new toy for being such a good girl, and I was shocked to see a new, clean, fluffy DUCKY just like the one I purchased almost four years ago!!!  I went back and forth considering buying another toy from the Multipet line, but I went with my gut and thought I should go with what I know the pups would like.

Boy did Momma do good.  The dogs went nuts over the new duck, wouldn't let it out of the sight, squeaked it for hours, and had a grand ole' time.

It had a good life, but I believe after looking at the filth and dirt on it, it's time to RIP.

Would you believe me if I told you I went on the toy lines website and wrote a review about their product because it was THAT good.  It was the best $8.95 I have spent in a long time :)

Looks like my dog's toys. She likes to destroy the ones she loves the most!

Ha ha...you are a very good momma. And THAT is a well loved toy. Sort of like the Velveteen Rabbit. =)

Amazing... I may need to invest in one of those little duckys! I have the hardest time finding toys for my pups that aren't torn to pieces in a few hours! How cute!

hahaha love the before and after picture! ill have to tell my mom about the ducky she has a new pup =)

wow, that is crazy. Usually you have to pay an arm and a leg for something to last that long. (: I love the comparison

good gosh, you managed to have the same toy over 4 years?! that means its pretty damn sturdy!!!

i hope your puppy gets better soon x

I can't believe you found a toy to last 4 years! If I buy my dog a stuffed toy I am lucky to see it last 4 hours!

Poor duck, lived a rough life!! RIP!

Bella has a cheeseburger toy that I threw away last week, it was old and falling apart and I can't find it anywhere!!! It was her fave toy.

We just got Hayden a new hedgehog which has something that grunts & a squeaker too!

haha! LOVE this! My "big kitty" has a duckie too! It actually kinda looks like yalls! I think he would know if I washed it or replaced it.. so I must leave duckie alone with a HUGE hole in his head & 4 years of dirt on him :)

I have not seen these before. ANd, yes I believe that you wrote a review! :)
I actually write reviews when I get a great product or stellar customer service. My pup has a squirrel, and it is the only stuffed animal to hold up for so long. I will keep a lookout for this line of dog toys!

awww i hope your little one feels better and you figure out what's wrong!

um, koda would rip that duck's head off in 4.2 seconds. i guess that's the perk of having little pups :)

glad the boys were excited!!!

I am so sorry that you do not have any answers, when do you see the vet again? I think you need to go back to their website and tell them about your blog and they will send your free product to review!

Wow, great toy. How's your little guy though. I hope he's okay. A new toy always helps. Specially if it's a favorite from the past. Here's to another 4 great years:)

I'd love to make anything for you it's so fun. There are so many color options and patterns.

I'm impressed the squeaker lasted that long! The squeaker is always the first thing to go when my boxer mix gets her paws on a new toy! :)

That first duck got a lot of wear and tear out of it!

MCW said...

My friend's bulldog has the exact same duck. He rubs the slobbery thing all over people, Yuck!

UGH Its so annoying how overpriced Dog Toys are!!! but it's totally worth it to see how happy they make em :-)

I'm so glad to know my dog isn't the only one! He's had this frog for four years and it's all matted and has no eyes but he loves it. I won't replace it until that squeaker goes out either.

Okay!
I have been away from The Seatte Smith's toooo long! Where have I been...lah..lah...MAC land I guess!
This yellow duck is a must for Doogie BOy!
Will get him this for Easter!
Only problem is...now that he has discovered how to CRUNCH squeekers and music makers...that is what he goes for!
Last time I went to get my hair done we popped in the Bellevue Mall and went into that ritz little pet boutique and bought him this HUGE violin that played classical music!
He had been left behind on Bainbridge!
So of course we needed to bring him a TOY!
Oh did he love it!
That classical music lasted about 30 minutes...then the dreaded CRUNCH!!!!!
I about BOPPED him over the head with that designer VIOLIN!!!! Ha..haha!
Now about your little furbaby!
So sorry to hear that he may be having problems!
I will say a prayer.
Email me sweetpea!
Let Doogan and I know how he is doing!
xooxxooxx

Aww cute post!

We have a green rubber bone, that's been with us since 2006 when our pit-mix was still around. I can't even remember where I got it but it's indestructible and all the dogs' favorite toy! :)

Oohh I totally will buy one of those. My pups have a few grimy toys they love that have also made it years. ALL of which are missing the stuffing and squeaker though!
Poor Harley. Have you ever gone to Yorkietalk.com? Pretty crazy site but TONS of info from people who obsess on Yorkies and usually have 3 or so of them so TONS of info.

My parents dog is a cocker spaniel, but he destroys toys! We're talking absolute destruction in the first 24 hours, to the point where the toy is shredded, the stuffing has been eaten and the squeaker is MIA. I found the ultimate toy- a MASSIVE Octopus- last Christmas. I was sure it would last at least a week... and wouldn't you know, he had the legs ripped off and the thing was dead in the about 2 days. Sheesh!!

Aw! that's sweet! It's so rare that you ever find the original thing you bought ages ago.

i'll go to the store. see something adorable...think...oh i'll hold off and get it next time. when i go back...it's gone. i'm heartbroken. i've learned to buy what i want at that moment for very important items... like the leather Lauren Conrad Jacket I bought last weekend. :)

Neha said...

They sure deserved a new one for having had the old one for four years! That's a nice piece of toy!

K said...

You are so lucky that your toys last that long. I have two pit bull mix dogs and their toys only last for a week or so if I get the reinforced ones.

Anonymous said...

Wow-that really did last!

I hope you find out what's wrong with her!

Sierra said...

What cute ducks - glad the doggies love them so much!

Samantha said...

I would definitely say it's time for a new duck. But glad the other one lasted so long.
