Wishful Wed ....Job

'I wish' .... I got paid $1 million a year to
be an international au pair!

*we will pretend I hadn't found Mr. Right and was single

There is no other job quite like getting paid to watch after someone else's kids!  I have always enjoyed babysitting, but so many of my fond memories growing up were from nannying my favorite families.  The best was traveling on an all expense paid cruise (plus $$$) while I was in college for a family over Spring Break.  I was no Mary Poppins, but I was always willing to give up my weekends, drive carpools, help with homework, etc for a family that appreciated me!  I still keep in close contact with them and stop by when I am in town .... I swear I am not getting older, but the kids who were once 3 months old and young toddlers are now in high school and/or driving, out of braces, and just beautiful!!

Justin Leonard - famous PGA golfer - needed a full time nanny to travel on tour with him, and one of my good friends was offered the opportunity but didn't do it.  I went back and forth about taking the job, but my number one priority was to finish school.  Plus, my boyfriend at the time wouldn't allow (yes, I kid you notme to do it because that's how Tiger Woods met his wife.  She was a nanny for another golfer and met Tiger at a championship.  Little did my ex know he was going to lose me anyways -- haha :)

Anyways, I think if I hadn't found Mr. Right, I would have loved to take some adventure internationally and be an au pair!  To travel the world, learn multiple languages, live an expense-free life, and impact the lives of children .... sign me up!!!  Has anyone seen the movie Au Pair and the sequels??

Hope everyone participates in Wishful Wednesday!  Attach your blog below by clicking "you are next" and add your website to MckLinky below!!!

What fun! I was once paid to travel to Ireland with a family I regularly baby-sat for, it was amazing! If law school doesn't work I'll be keeping nanny-ing in mind!

One of my best high school friends nannys for Sheryl Crow and absolutely loves it so I can see why you picked the job! She wouldn't trade her job for the world! Plus, I enjoy the free concert tickets and trips to her house as well. Perks on both ends.

So interesting about you, chica! Love it! I was always so jealous of those peeps who got to go on awesome trips! I nannied a little but mostly off and on for younger families. What a good gig! I almost participated in this today but was too indecisive last night.. haha.. Sad, but true. It was between being an international photag of sorts or help people in some way. *shrug* And so funny you mention the au pair thing.. My current boss met his wife that way! She was an au pair from Europe here in the states and they met! So fun!

I just came over here from Katie's because I saw your comment about CoC. I grew up CoC too!

In Canada, CoC's are really small. The one I attend is probably the largest in Ontario and we've got about 150 members. So for me, it's really neat to come across people who either go to/have gone to/or have even heard of CoC!

P.S. I would fail the quiz too.
