'I wish' .... I got paid $1 million a year to
be an international au pair!
*we will pretend I hadn't found Mr. Right and was single
There is no other job quite like getting paid to watch after someone else's kids! I have always enjoyed babysitting, but so many of my fond memories growing up were from nannying my favorite families. The best was traveling on an all expense paid cruise (plus $$$) while I was in college for a family over Spring Break. I was no Mary Poppins, but I was always willing to give up my weekends, drive carpools, help with homework, etc for a family that appreciated me! I still keep in close contact with them and stop by when I am in town .... I swear I am not getting older, but the kids who were once 3 months old and young toddlers are now in high school and/or driving, out of braces, and just beautiful!!
Justin Leonard - famous PGA golfer - needed a full time nanny to travel on tour with him, and one of my good friends was offered the opportunity but didn't do it. I went back and forth about taking the job, but my number one priority was to finish school. Plus, my boyfriend at the time wouldn't allow (yes, I kid you not) me to do it because that's how Tiger Woods met his wife. She was a nanny for another golfer and met Tiger at a championship. Little did my ex know he was going to lose me anyways -- haha :)
Anyways, I think if I hadn't found Mr. Right, I would have loved to take some adventure internationally and be an au pair! To travel the world, learn multiple languages, live an expense-free life, and impact the lives of children .... sign me up!!! Has anyone seen the movie Au Pair and the sequels??

That is SUCH a good one!! I think it would be mine too, actually, no joke!
I love your pick!!!!! It would be so awesome to travel...meet new families and babysit all day! :)
That sounds like a great job. I am not sure what I would do. Travel for sure though.
What fun! I was once paid to travel to Ireland with a family I regularly baby-sat for, it was amazing! If law school doesn't work I'll be keeping nanny-ing in mind!
Yeah, that would be a pretty good life!! Would love to live over in Europe for a few years while I'm still young enough to do so!!
Such a good pick! That would sound like a blast! I would have never thought about doing that!! lol
That would be an awesome job if you were single, you would get paid to travel!
What a fabulous choice! Sounds pretty amazing to me!
Oh my gosh, wow. I am amzed someone would pick that job! I think I babysat for a family twice in my lifetime, lol. Good for you! It would be fun as much as you love babysitting!
One of my best high school friends nannys for Sheryl Crow and absolutely loves it so I can see why you picked the job! She wouldn't trade her job for the world! Plus, I enjoy the free concert tickets and trips to her house as well. Perks on both ends.
GREAT DREAM JOB! So far all the wishful wednesdays I have seen have something to do with Travel!!
I can't believe your ex said you COULD not do that job!!
Do you like your job now?
Good pick Kelsey! I just posted mine and we have similar answers, I'd be a Travel Channel host!
I was a nanny in college and LOVED it! It was great preparation for wifedom and someday motherhood. I left you something on my blog. : )
That's interesting! I've never known anyone who wants that job!
That does sound like a cool job, but you think we can bring our "extra" babysitter to watch the kids while we wanna go play? lol
great choice!
i love kids! i still babysit!
my bestie is a nanny and i know she totally enjoys it too.
I was going to mention the movies but didnt out of fear for seeming like a creep for still watchin abc family at the age of... whenever I watched those movies. Glad were creeps together.
That sounds fabulous!
My wish...a stay-at-home mom. Now I just need to get some munchkins :)
Oh, someone can pay me to travel around the world! Great pick!
That sounds like a FABULOUS job!! And yes- I've seen the Au Pair movies on ABC Family... Love the first one. The sequals kinda lost me though!
Thanks so much for your nice comment about our bathroom redo!
So interesting about you, chica! Love it! I was always so jealous of those peeps who got to go on awesome trips! I nannied a little but mostly off and on for younger families. What a good gig! I almost participated in this today but was too indecisive last night.. haha.. Sad, but true. It was between being an international photag of sorts or help people in some way. *shrug* And so funny you mention the au pair thing.. My current boss met his wife that way! She was an au pair from Europe here in the states and they met! So fun!
such a good one!! i love this wishful wednesdays on everyones blog!
I totally agree! I love children and I LOVE to travel=perfect. A friend of mine is actually an international au pair, and she loves it!

Before I met my husband me and my friends plotted ways to become PGA tour nannies so we could be like Tiger Woods wife!!
I think you're right. That would be an AWESOME job! A friend of mine did it in Italy and met her now fiance!
Also...a good friend of mine just moved to Seattle this week from VA. You should check out her blog http://ladygowest.blogspot.com/
:)
I just came over here from Katie's because I saw your comment about CoC. I grew up CoC too!
In Canada, CoC's are really small. The one I attend is probably the largest in Ontario and we've got about 150 members. So for me, it's really neat to come across people who either go to/have gone to/or have even heard of CoC!
P.S. I would fail the quiz too.
oh what a lovely wish!!! I wish it for myself...it would be so fun
xoxo
