As much as I love spending the evenings with my husband ...
( especially after a long workday)
I do LOVE my Thursday nights to myself!
Gabe runs a basketball league at LA Fitness and ends up spending pretty much the entire evening at the gym for the league. I don't know how he does it ... working 60 hour weeks and then a night at the gym filled with four hours of playing a game and reffing the rest plus working out the days in between. He is one of the hardest working people I know, along with my Daddy of course, and I am so proud of him providing for our Smith family.
I got a taste of his work schedule this week since I took him to/from work multiple days so he didn't have to fight traffic. This allows us to drive in the HOV lane and fly by the standstill traffic, which also means me waking up at 6am. That is early for me considering I need at least eight hours of sleep each night, sometimes more! But it is worth it for me so he can sleep in a little longer and/or get home quicker in the evenings after I finish Crossfit.
Four straight days of Crossfit and my poor little calluses on my hands are ripping. Supposedly, I am suppose to shave them, but too nervous to do so. Anyways ... that's probably too much information!! Also, I am sooooo close to doing a pull-up on my own. I started out on the thickest resistance band to help guide you with the kipping motion to make a pull-up easier. Then, as you get stronger, you move to a smaller band making the pull-up more difficult. I have moved down three bands, and on the smallest one before doing them on my own. SO excited. Something probably no one strives for, but me!!
Thankfully, this week has just flown by. Don't get me wrong, I am so ready for tomorrow evening, but it has been go-go-go. Another update, Gabe's cousin moved in with us this past weekend after moving to Seattle from Nashville. We have plenty of room in our townhouse until he finds an apartment here, but it has taken some adjusting to considering it has been just the two of us for so long. We have one TV, and we all like different shows. We are all good sports about it, but the guys just laughed after seeing Project Runway, Rachel Zoe Project, Real Housewives, and Flipping Out on the Tivo! Hey, I need something to watch on my relaxing Thursday evening by myself, right?
I just wanted to thank a few blogging ladies that I have thoroughly enjoyed getting to know!!
Christa @ According to Christa was super sweet to share the wealth of her gazillion awards :)
(I was suppose to list 10 facts, but I just did that a couple days ago, so am going to be a bad blogger and hold off!!)
Thursdays are my night, and I am so thankful for them!
It allows me to get caught up on all of my favorite blogs, relax,
and get some things done around the house.
Have a good night ;)

Enjoy your night... I am the same way!
I love time to myself! Enjoy it.
Kudos on having "your" night. I think that's super important! I hope you had so much fun watching your shows and chilling out!!
congrats on the awards! Your hubby does sound like a hard worker and SO nice of you to wake up at 6am!! You are also so very brave to do Crossfit! I've heard how hard it is!
My brother just moved out after MANY months of living with us! He wasn't here very much at all though. Just keep thinking "this won't be forever"..ha!
ps - I LOVE your header and the pics!
I'm impressed that you can almost do a pull-up. I'm not sure that I will ever be able to do one!
You are such a good wifey to get up earlier to take your husband to work!
I used to pride myself in winning the pull-up competition (girls) in gym glass in elementary school, so I feel ya!
you and your hubs are quite possibly the cutest couple ever! very good looking too! haha
as far as calluses go, i would try the Ped Egg. You can get it just about anywhere, CVS, Wallgreens, Target, etc. I know its typically for feet, but it would prob. work for your hands as well.
I love Project Runway, and I am so glad Rachel Zoe is back!!!! My husband rolls his eyes too :)
A night to yourself is nice! Enjoy:)
I am the same way! I just love my alone time! Makes me appreciate the time when I am with my fiancee so much more!
Congrats on the awards!
It's always good to have a little time to yourself - We love our hubs of course but "me" time ROCKS!
I hope you had a great night and great job and 4 days in a row with your workout! Hard work that pays off!
I have to agree. I LOVE my hubby, but I do love some time to myself with just me and TiVo!! LOL
Agreed, having nights to yourself are great sometimes and much needed. Hope you have a great weekend!
gotta LOVE the HOV lane! that is very sweet of you to wake up early just to take him.
I love time to myself too!! hope you had a great night!!
Your mornings could be worse... you could have to wake up at 5 and drive an hour to work like I do :-) I would LOVE to get 8 hrs of sleep a night but there just aren't enough hours in the day! Hope you enjoyed your "you" night and have a great weekend! Oh and congrats on the awards, those are always fun.
i know what you mean about your hubby being a hard worker, my fiance is the exact same way. he hasn't had a day off in at least 3 weeks. he works at least 50 hours a week and coaches hockey (on the ice doing skills) 3-4 times a week after work. i don't know how these men do it.
i love time to myself as well!
and i do the exact same thing as you...relax and watch all my shows that i have on dvr ;)
i know what it's like having a roommate...my brother just moved out a few months back. i have to say i love having our place back to ourselves.
congrats on the awards girly!
Good work Cross fit lady! I am impressed:). -Emi
I know what you mean about enjoying a night to yourself! It's so nice just to take care of YOU for a night :) Glad you get one of those each week! Hope you guys have a wonderful weekend!
I love spending time with my hubby--more than anything. But some nights, I need me time, and I love it! I hope you enjoyed it!
Thanks for stopping by my blog! I love nights to myself sometimes!
I love having alone time as well!
Keep letting us know about crossfit!! I've heard such good things! Having done it..do you think I could do it with a less-than-perfect back? (I broke it last year.. yeah crazy, I know). But I'm back in the gym and able to do pretty much everything! Been wanting to try crossfit!
Good for you on having a night to yourself, lady! :) It's so healthy for the soul, I think. And uh..project runway is therapy. Plain and simple.
Have a great weekend!
I am so with you on the 8+ hours of sleep!
Hi Kelsey! Thanks for posting on my blog... how'd you find it? I just read this post and can't wait to delve in and read some more. You guys are super cute, and I agree- I LOVE my alone nights as well. Every girl needs them!
It's so nice to have a relaxing night to do exactly what you want! I bet you loves the night playing basketball as much as you love watching all your shows!
Thanks for visiting my blog! I don't really know how to do the e-mail thing to comment back! I have never roped a steer myself! But I have been told there are lots of nights ahead of sitting out in a lawn chair watching the boys!
