Murph, the 7th layer of hell

I set my alarm for my usual Saturday morning crossfit workout and rolled over to grab my cell to check the site to see the workout of the day.  I was not expecting to see Murph ... ahh one of the most difficult workouts that takes for-ever!.  I was all bundled in bed with my sweet family, and it took everything in me to pop out of bed and put my Murph game face on!  Thankfully, I had 30 minutes to prepare for this ;)

Murph

1 Mile Run
100 Pullups
200 Pushups
300 Squats
1 Mile Run

**Partition the reps however you would like. Start and finish with a mile run.

The first time I did this workout was a year and a half ago, March 2009 and I blogged about it here.  I remember it like it was yesterday because it was one of the first handful of workouts I completed at crossfit.  It too me 50 or so minutes, and I used one of the bands with the most assistance, did push-ups on my knees, and probably didn't have very great form on my squats.

AND, I am so proud to say I did the WOD prescribed, didn't have an assistance band for my 100 pull-ups (YAYAYA), did 200 legit chest to ground push-ups, and rocked 300 squats below parallel!!!  All 48:38 seconds were like the 7th layer of hell with the only rest catching my breath and resting my hands for the next round.  And my hands didn't even rip - Thank God!

That routine didn't look scary to me until the pull ups. I was the kid in gym class who couldn't even do one. You are my hero girl!

I am in awe, mostly because if I attempted this, I would die. :) Sounds like an awesome workout though!

That sounds painful. I did one similar to that a couple months ago and I wanted to die.
Good for you getting out of your warm bed. I think that if I tried to go to CF in the morning, I'd have a lot harder of a time getting there as often as I do.
I really love reading your CF posts. :)

Girl your awesome! Our groupon earlier in the month offered Cross Fit as a coupon I wanted to do it so bad but it was a location far away from me. Give me some details on how you like it because you looked amazing in your bikini in Australia!

I think CrossFit sounds amazing! I wish my gym did this type of work-out, but we don't have anything like it. Definitely would love to try it someday though!!!

Wow! I can't believe you can do all of that and still type to tell us about it! I can't do but like 3 real push ups. :( You're awesome. I wish I could start working out, but I had surgery and have to wait for a few weeks.
