I am so blessed to have a loving mother like I do!  Growing up, she led by example and taught me how to become a Godly woman, and I will always cherish the countless conversations based around our family motto .... "Integrity."

We email multiple times a day and most often talk at least once a day, and it just wasn't the same this last week.  My sweet Momma is cruising the Atlantic on a 15 day Transatlantic Cruise with my daddy, and I was thrilled to wake up to an email from her for the first time in 7 days.  Today was their first day with internet, and we luckily were able to correspond briefly, but is just seemed weird not being able to hear my mom's voice on a holiday like today.  I pray for safety on the remainder of their trip, and I can't wait to pick up right where we left off!  

Momma:  Love you more than you love me!!


I look forward to the joy of being blessed with the most important job in the world .... being a Mom to a life that depends on me!

Most gorgeous day of the yr

So far, of all days in 2010 ... Today is the most gorgeous day of the year in Seattle. It's 65 degrees, and I personally think it feels more like 75. After speaking to my family in Texas, my mouth held wide open after they have already broken 100 degrees in some parts. Part of me misses that because it also means I wouldn't be as pale as I am in the photo below, BUT with that heat comes humidity, and I DO NOT miss that!

Opening day of boating season was last weekend, which means Seattle summers are here, and I am a happy camper grinning from ear to ear!!

We knew the pups would enjoy another day at the park, 

so off we went to soak up some rays with the fam!

On our way home from the dog park, Gabe wanted to stop in the Franz Bakery Outlet in hopes of getting some bargain donuts (yes he is four). He was in heaven, and I won't complain because they had the best prices! It was crazy cheap and reminded me of the roadtrips to Grandmother's in Oklahoma when we stopped by an outlet every.single.trip to stock up on ginger snaps. They were dad's fav ;)

And, we may or may not have stopped in LuLu Lemon, leaving the pups in the car with the A/C running. I needed the hubs opinion ...... Ahh, I just love that place and can't wait to wear my new legging crops!!

Catch up

Tonight was a perfect evening after a crazy week .....

I got a nasty gram from the library to return my book, so I was determined to finish The Reliable Wife.  Great quick read if you're looking for a good book.  The last 24 hours, I surprisingly managed to stay away from Google Reader, all my favorite blogs, and Perez Hilton so it wouldn't spoil who was kicked off The Biggest Loser and American Idol.  Whew, I can't believe Facebook didn't spoil it either.


So, this evening was filled with Crossfit, getting caught up on a few of my shows, knocked out some work, and cuddled with my pups while hubby was running his basketball league.  I thought my day was long until I realized Gabe left the house this morning at 6:15am and didn't walk in the door UNTIL 10:45pm.  I guess I can't complain about much because he gives no sympathy and understandably so!!

It's way past my bed time, 
but thank goodness it's almost the weekend.

I am going to answer this statement differently now that I live in Seattle ...

'I wish' .... I was fluent in another language in addition to English, and it would be Russian!

If you would have asked me this five years ago, I would have told you Spanish.  Living in the south and being so close to the Mexican border, knowing the Spanish language was/is a huge plus.  The problem is, I let Spanish fall to the waist-side after high school and a college, so it is pretty much foreign to me now.  I wish I would have kept up with it!!!!

Anyways, now living in Seattle, I think it would be amazing to speak Russian.  You would never believe me when I tell you how many Russians (as well as Asians too) reside in Seattle and on the west coast.  I call on many Russian clinics, pharmacies, as well as have multiple Russian girlfriends, and I think it would be an interesting language to learn and be able to speak.  I find Russians intriguing .... Plus, I could get away with a name like Svetlana of Yulia.

Also, I think we would all want to speak Vietnamese to be able to know what the ladies at the nail salon are saying about our tragic feet, hehe!

MyCharity Water

A couple weeks ago, one of the topics for Wishful Wednesday was based around charities.  One of my readers left a inspirational post based around her 21st birthday and MyCharity: Water, a non-profit that is bringing clean and safe water to people in developing nations.  

Sam just started a campaign to raise $5,000, which builds a well and gives an entire community (roughly 250 people) fresh running water for years to come.

Once we made it to the top, it starting raining so all the layers I shed went back!  Oddly, it happened so fast, so we headed down to the trail-head thinking warm thoughts like HOT chocolate, HOT soup, and most importantly a HOT car!!
