Weekend of Worship

Hubby and I wanted to be able to get plugged in at our new humongous church, and thankfully our newly married class ended up being the best place for exactly that.

My title of "Weekend of Worship" could not be more accurate!  From small group Thursday night, Worship night Friday, Jeremy Camp Saturday night, and church on Sunday with brunch at our favorite restaurant after .... it was a perfect weekend (besides the fact that I may have lost some hearing!!!)  We did other things too of course, but these were the highlight.

I am SOOOO blessed to have met these amazing ladies (I knew Jessie already!) through our church small group!  I asked them if they got sick of seeing me four days in a row :)

Jessie, Jenay, Channah, and me

Hanging out after Worship night and roughly 250 baptisms!!
*Tyler (in the hat) - was one of them -- yay!!!

Kristin came to play too!

Then, the boys were starving and insisted on Denny's at midnight, classy!
It was packed for some odd reason .... lol!

Majority of "the group" went to Jeremy Camp's concert!  Bebo Norman and Natalie Grant opened for him.  It was incredibly inspirational and takes it to a new level seeing them live.  If you ever get the chance ... go!!

The only photo I took that turned out

'I Still Believe' has always been one of my favorite songs of Jeremy Camp's, but it means so much more now.  After being married a little less than six months, his wife died of ovarian cancer, and he wrote this song two weeks after she passed ..... (that video isn't the best version since it's live, but you can hear the story behind it) .... First, I can't imagine my spouse dying, and secondly, to write a song during such a painful and vulnerable time that will always remind him of her and what they went through.  I would be one mess with puddles of tears every time I sang it.

God definitely tugged at my heart all weekend, and it couldn't be better timing a couple days before a holiday of thanksgiving!

Ahhh, it's Monday,
but only a one day work week for me!

What a lovely post Kelsey!
You are an inspiration!
I know your sparkle and spirit inspire many along the way!
Only YOU would take pictures at Denny's! Love it!
Greg and I haven't connected in that way with a church here in the Northwest...this tugs at my heart because I do yearn to melt into a church home.
Thanks for inspiring!
Happy Holiday Week!

I'm so glad you had a weekend filled with worship. And I know exactly how you feel because I had one too! We saw Todd Agnew and Building 429 in concert, and it really set me on fire for God. Even better, I'm SO glad you have a small group of women that can build you up!!!

Sounds like a great weekend for you guys. There is absolutely nothing better than fellow shipping with fellow believers - especially those who are in a similar life stage as you are. I don't have much of that where I am - which is why I blog. It gives me a chance to connect with other young, Christian wives .. but nothing beats the real life interaction. I'm glad you have found a church where you can have that!

What an amazing story for you to share. I had no idea about his wife, nor had I ever heard the song I still believe. We're in the process of looking for a church now. Difficult thing is my husband is 10 years older than I am, so we are looking for different things in a church that has a strong biblical message. He likes the old hymnal to be pulled out for at least ONE song during service, I on the other hand love praise and worship! How lucky you are to have found one that fits so well into your lives!

Wow.. I agree.. to write a song after something like that.. wow. And what a great, celebratory post for the holidays! I grew up in a house divided so to speak.. my parents, both Christians, were different religions so we would often go to both churches so I could experience both. All that really did was leave me a bit confused. But, I will say after some years, I've defintitely found my faith and it's a very fulfilling thing that I wish for everyone. Great post, chica! :) XOXO!

Holy cow...250 baptisms?! I don't think I see that many in a year at our little bitty church!

I've always liked that Jeremy Camp song, but I never knew the story behind it...wow...thanks for sharing!

Kelsey, that is so awesome! I'm jealous of your inspirational weekend! I had a little piece of it Sunday morning when I went to church, but nothing like your weekend. It's a blessing to have friends like that; I'm trying to figure out where to get involved in my community so I can get to know people around here.

The first time I saw Jeremy in concert, he told that story, and it brought tears to my eyes...the way he tells it, then leading into "I Still Believe" is amazing. I'm glad you got to see him!
