Longer ... thicker lashes!

Thicker and more gorgeous lashes ....

Has anyone used Latisse?

I just got a prescription from my favorite dermatologist when I was in Dallas, but I haven't filled it yet.  I have unbelievable insurance and luckily don't have to pay a co-pay, but this sucker is the first drug that isn't covered because it's "cosmetic!"

Is it worth it?!

You will have to let me know! I have been very intrigued by it, but the "may cause permenant iris darkening" scares me....

I see this commercial like EVERYDAY, LoL! I mean do you need longer, thicker lashes girl?! It's all on you sweetie...I would LOVE to see the results if you do get it!

I am using this right now! So far so good but I've only used it maybe 2 weeks.

Hmmm...my take...I wouldn't use it. I wear contacts and my eyes are sensitive so having medicine by my eyes freaks me out a bit.

Let us know how it goes if you take the dive.

I would love thicker lashes though.

i can't wait to hear about it! i've wondered if i really works!!

Try it! The only thing I don't like is that it can make your eyelids darker. I have awful dark circles. I don't need more dark! LOL!

I just saw this review on Latisse: http://www.slynnro.blogspot.com/`

The side effects make me nervous. I have blue eyes and wouldn't want them darkened. I also don't want my eye lids to turn darker. Just remember that thi drug was discovered while it was being tested for glaucoma treatment and the lashes happened to be a side effect. Also, if you get it on other body parts (like your eyebrows) hair will grow there.

I haven't but I know some people that do and they love it :)

i keep hearing about this product. you have to let us know how it works if you decide to test it out! i would be interested in trying it myself!

I'm curious about it as well. Seems like a lot for lashes.

PS- I left you something on my blog :)

Sarah said...

Hmm. How much $$ is it?

I probably wouldn't try it because the permanent iris pigmentation scares me!

Unknown said...

Let me know if it works...i luv my lashes, BUT hey it wouldn't hurt to make them thicker!!!

Hey Lady!! My mom uses this...I think she has been using it for about a month. She says she can tell a difference. I have long lashes but I could use thicker ones so just maybe I'll give it a try too! :)

Hmmm something about this seemed a little strange to me, but good luck!!!

never tried it! can't wait to see what you think :)

I just started using Lastisse! I have no idea how it will actually turn out, but I have such horribly short, thin, and straggly eyelashes that I figured I'd give it a go!

But You're right, it isn't cheap...and unlike you, my copay wasn't fabulous! So I'm just hoping that I get my money's worth without having to give in and get eyelash extensions...which, believe it or not, I have actually considered doing more than once!!

i'd like to know how it works too... it's my mom's dream come true, but she has yet to try it out... i'd love to tell her if it's worth it!

I've heard mixed reviews on it...depending on the cost I'd give it a whirl...can't hurt right?

Ginger said...

I too have heard mixed reviews keep us posted on how it goes.

I have been intrigued by this since it came out! You have to let us know if you decide to try!

Girl, I loved your post about your paw paw! So sweet. And I have never used this super power lash booster but let me know if it works!

~Kristen~ said...

I have heard that it only lasts while you use the product and once you stop then your eyelashes go back to how they were before! But I have never tried it myself so who knows!!!

TracyZLesh @ Then I Got To Thinking said...

I don't know anything about it, but i have heard about it! Please give us a review if you do it! I wish I could do it!

Kassie said...

You'll have to let us know how it goes!! I would be too scared to try it, since apparently it can permanently darken the color of your eyes--and I like my green ones! But you have brown already, so it couldn't hurt. :)

considering i saw brooke sheilds in a toothpaste commercial as well all i can think is... probably not! they needed an actress to sell it!

Llama said...

oh my goodness! i just gave my opinion on this THIS morning! it completely freaks me out to be honest! although i have never tried it OR know someone who has...it was the all of the possible side effects that scared the CRAP outta me! Be careful and if you do try it ...let us all know how it works!

OK Kels. Here's the 411. I saw my sister last April and was like WTF did you do to your lashes? They were LITERALLY twice as long and twice as thick. They almost looked fake it was so obvious. But I have to admit they looked REALLY good. (btw my mom just got a RX she hasn't filled for it yet either)...

the biggest downside I think is the potential darking of the iris, but you already have brown eyes, so whatever. so it's really a question of COST (i heard it's on sale now?) which from what ive seen is about $100/month.. plus it takes a couple months to work and as soon as you stop taking it the changes are reversed.. so it's really a monthly investment of $50-$100 (i've heard you can make a one month supply last two months...)

anywayyy that's what i know! :) if i had the extra money id totally do it (i think.. i do like my blue eyse but i think that darkening iris thing is like a 1% chance side effect) cuz my lashes are PATHETIC

Jamie said...

My only hesitation would be its a NEW product on the market. We all know what happened with Exubera, don't we? I would just be caution of the iris issue (which someone already addressed). However with that being said, a friend of mine that nannies for Sheryl Crow met Brooke Shields several months ago and was totally convinced that Latisse actually works. She said her eyelashes were amazing and Brooke had nothing but good things to say about the product. And since I know how good pf insurance truly is, I'd say why not try it? Ask some of your docs and see what they say to get tons of second opinions?

I've been curious as well, but haven't had the guts to try it, yet! Keep us posted...

I've no problem with things of cosmetic nature, but when I saw the commercial, to be honest (not judging), I rolled my eyes. I'd like to hear how it goes for you, but, being as straight with you as if you were one of my girlfriends, I'd probably tell them I thought it was ridiculous and unnecessary and tease them about it. (Yes, I'm -that- friend. Haha!) Some beauty products go too far. Women have enough things to pick at themselves about without worrying how thick/long their lashes are. =/

Brittney said...

How expensive is it? I say go for it if it doesn't break the wallet too much!

bananas. said...

ooh i've been dying to try that stuff. i would love to have longer lashes. how much is it? you'll have to let us know how it works.

Unknown said...

I could justify the money. BUT I wouldn't do it if it doesn't last. If you truly have to stay on it forever or your lashes go away then I wouldn't do it. Because odds are you won't take it forever and ever and then you have just thrown your money away with nothing to show for it. Love!

Ramirez Family said...

DONT DO IT!!!!!!! I think that you know that Jared is in the health industry, and he told me it is SOOO bad for you. It can cause permanent eye damage and dye the color of your eyes a blackish color, ewww. Its not worth that risk if you want my opinion!!

Chanes said...

Do Revitalash!! If you are faithful to it for 4-5 months you will wake up with va va voom lashes one day!! Eyelashes grow every 3 1/2 months so that's why it takes so long but I promise if you put it on every day you will be richly rewarded without all those scary side effects.

Sierra said...

I'm not sure, but I am probably saying this because I am content with my eye lashes. I think I would rather spend the $$ on getting rid of veins or wrinkles, you know what I mean? Have a great day love! XO!

MCW said...

Never tried it...one of my friends uses it and likes the results. Not sure if there is a huge change, but she can tell.

Carrie said...

That's so funny, I had a lash-related post today too!

I've never tried them, or known anyone who has for that matter. Let us know how it turns out if you do get them!

Samantha said...

I don't know if it works, but I wanna know if you go through with it and how it turns out because I'm very interested.

Sarah said...

I write scripts all day for it, just remember it does not actually GROW more lashes it just keeps the actual hair in the follicle longer which causes more hairs to be present in follicles at the same time.

Mrs. Potts said...

These have always interested me, but I'm too chicken to try them. If you do, I know you'll let us know how it works.

Teresa said...

Wow!
That will be interesting to see if that works. Are you sure you don't just want to fluff your lashes with some baby powder and put your mascara on over the powder? I promise it works! I put baby powder on everything! Once in college I had it in my hair to fluff it up...I was going to a volleyball game...up in the stands in the midst of all my friends...ball came flying out into the stands and of course bops me on THE HEAD! Well...BABY POWDER pooofed everywhere!

Okay I don't have it. I know quite a few people that do. {and they RAVE} They say it is worth every penny. Ask for it for Christmas. :o)
oh ps. the eye darkening thing freaks me out, I don't want these baby blues turning a different color!

I am very curious to hear about real girls using this! If you do it, we need before and after pics!

Do you read R Wallis--True Beauty Inside and Out.
She's reviewed it before..That's so funny b/c I was just telling her this evening that I wanted some.
She used it and her lashes looked incredible. She manages a plastic surgery clinic, and they prescribe it there. check out my blog roll for her.

I haven't used it, but I've read/seen/heard EVERYWHERE that it has HORRIBLE side effects. I would STRONGLY recommend that you don't use it.

anywhooozerss, I'm gonna stop being a mom now, LOL. Thanks so much for following my lil' blog. I'm seeing a lot of my friendies here, and I like yours a lot, I'm a followah!

I hear it is worth every penny. I have never tried it, but I sure would like to! Hope your having a great day! xoxo

I haven't tried it, but the only thing that scares me is the eyelid or cornea darkening...

Susan said...

First of all, you are beautiful just the way you are girly! I can't see your eyelashes very well from your blog pictures but your eyes are beautiful with the eyelashes you have:) We all have little things we wish we could improve on if we could and eyelashes are now one of those things you can improve on ... so if your doctor didn't have any reservations about the drug, try it and see if it helps ... you can always stop using it, right? I haven't heard anything about this drug except that it makes "Brooke" feel better about herself ... isn't she beautiful even without longer lashes????? I think so:))

Melissa G said...

You are beautiful just the way you are!
Sometimes i think we can get so caught up in the little details like lashes and brows and in the end, does it really matter? And with those side effects, i wouldn't want to risk it. But seriously, you are really pretty!

Crazy Shenanigans-JMO said...

I haven't used it. I thought about it but the fact that it might and could turn my green eyes brown kinda scared me.

Lauryl Lane said...

The side effects scare the crap out of me. I'm totally chicken shit when it comes to this sort of thing. ;-)

Never thought about this, but they look great!

I've heard good things about it!

I really want to try it, but I worry about the "warnings issued" like changes in eye color. My eyes are super light blue and I've heard it could change them to brown. Weird, but a worry anyhow!
