Wish Wed Topic ....SATC2

I have pre-paid for my ticket to Sex and the City 2

This week's topic:

'I wish' .... I could be the one and only ___________ in SATC2!!

Would you want to be .....
Miranda, Carrie, Samantha, or Charlotte?!
AND, it wouldn't make WW complete without telling us why!

Most of you know the routine by now, but for my new readers .... Give yourself something fun to blog/post about on Wednesday to get you over the lovely hump day.  All you have to do is come back on Wednesday, attach the button, and link up with your web address with MckLinky.   It's that easy and SUPER FUN!

Bloggy Giveaways

No, I am not hosting a giveaway at this time,
BUT I had to share my lucky winnings.
It has been MY week apparently, and I am shocked!

{First}

Caroline emailed me that I was the winner of her blog giveaway, Emily Giffin's new book!  It happens to be perfect timing because I just got around to reading Love The One You're With and am now ready to read her newest release!!  Thank you thank you Caroline!   You happened to be one of the first blogs I came across over a year ago, and has always been a favorite to stay up to date on!!

{Second}

Juliana, at A Blonde Walk ins into a Blog, is another favorite!  Talk about balance, this lady can do it all and make it look easy.  She is the host giveaways queen, and I am the lucky winner of her most recent giveaway $30 Arbonne giftcard!!!  I have had so much fun stalking Ashley's Arbonne website.  I am going back and forth between the FC5 Hydrating Eye Creme's and the FC5 Moisturizing Night Creme.  I am sure I can't go wrong with either one, but I am waiting to hear back from Ashley and make my decision based on her suggestions.

I am in that stage of trying to find the perfect regimen for my skin.  My skin is finally getting acclimated to my clarisonic, but boy has it been up and down.  Right when I am really impressed with the results, a little/big pimple pops out of nowhere and lingers around way too long.  Do your girls use toner??  My girlfriend swears by it and has since 7th grade, but I missed that memo and haven't been using one.  I just bought one from Estee Lauder, so I am giving it a shot.

{Hopefully 3rd}  :)

Hopefully something fun from Arbonne will be added to my regimen and evening possible something from SkinCareRX if I win Tay's giveaway at The Undomestic Momma!  Ohhh the many things I would buy if I had $100 to spend on SkinCareRx.  I purchased their Solbol sunscreen last summer, and it was perfect for extra coverage on my face.  Their website offers so many different products, not to mention Dermologica, which I love.  I am crossing my fingers that my luck with continue ...... If you want to check out the giveaway, pop on over to The Undomestic Momma.  Go ahead, reduce my chance of winning (ha), because her blog is worth the visit!!!  Good Luck!

Nordy's, Molls, and More

What do to on a rainy Friday night in Seattle??

- Check out the Nordstrom's sale with my bestie.
Yes'm we shopped till we drop, and I found more
fabulous finds than I have ever found at Nordy's before.
We shut the place down wayy after their closing hours.

- Then, made pizza and had a tasty beverage,
Malbec wine from Chile (my fav)
Played with her 7 week old wiener dog puppies,
They entertained us for hours while we caught up on life
till 2am!  That's the joys of living 7 minutes away.

Today it has rained off and on,
and my day started with a crappy eye infection.
A little Crossfit action cured the "sicky, oh, poor, me."

I have had a really productive morning.
Yipeeskips, aren't those the best!
Oh the other hand,
Hubby slept in until 12:30pm, wowzers, sleepy guy!
Him, not so much!!!  hah

I with leave you with this song
that I have been dancing around the house to!
It makes me clean super fast and cross things off my list ;)

Wishful Wednesday ...Bedroom

'I wish' .... I could come home to

THIS (pictured above)
bedroom each and every night!!

I searched HIGH and LOW on what feels like way too many websites for the perfect bedroom.  I have fallen in love with many bedrooms before, but then found it difficult to find a room that sums up my style when I actually needed it.

The snapshot above captures all the detail and color I hope for in a master bedroom.  I didn't particularly LOVE this style until I lived in a carriage house (apartment above the garage) of the most exquisite home in Highland Park, an area in Dallas.  Thalia's style and decor was right out of an Anthropology magazine, and I learned to really admire the mix-match look and contrast of colors.  I think it is so classy and unique, but bright at the same time.  I LOVE IT, and love how different it is from the traditional style I grew up in.

Wouldn't this be the perfect nook to match?

I cannot wait to move into a house where Gabe and I can call it "home" and where our family can grow.  Then, I can really start getting into decorating!!  Hopefully by that point I will have a style that I will want to live with forever!

What does your
dream bedroom look like?

International Travels

Guess who called me this evening?!?!

My amazing parents!!!

I don't think I have ever been so thrilled to see "Daddy" as an incoming caller on my phone.  After 17 days .... it was so wonderful to hear their voice!!

How cute is my momma :)

I have lots of catching up to do on the last two and a half weeks my parents have been away plus watching my favorite show, The Biggest Loser, so more later!

Run Day BeatTheBridge

Our NW Crossfit team getting ready for the race -
Great friends and people I spend a lot of my spare time with!!

A fun little warm-up

The girls (I can thank them for getting me to sign up)
Lindsay, Leslie, and Laura

What a nice hubby I have to come support me
and document my exciting day bright and early!

Putting our electronic readers on our shoes
to get an accurate race time - Isn't technology impressive?

Last group photo - - Getting nervous for 5 MILES, ha!

Among the gazillion of runners, I am shocked that Gabe was able to find me out of the crowd and catch me coming down the stretch of the UW Husky Stadium  I love it!  I really wish I would have gone in the second wave instead of the third, the last one, because it was insane the amount of people we had weave through.  That comes with any race though and the runners probably thought the same thing who passed me!

I don't ever recall running in an organized run longer than a 5k, but after this ... I am ready to sign up for my more!  It was the perfect distance, the weather was great, and I was impressed with myself being able to keep a good pace (for not training!!).

After I crossed the University Bridge at the 2 mile mark, it took me 23 minutes to finish the last 3 miles which was about a 7:30 min mile.  The race was easy once I made it through the crowds and crowds of runners, but 41:20 time isn't too shabby.

Good times had by ALL

Thanks to all the music suggestions.  My trusty iPod was a huge success with upbeat songs to keep me kickin'

*I haven't posted videos of myself on my blog before, and I really debated with the ones above.  But, I figure why not!

Beat the Bridge 8K

My Crossfit girlfriends lured me into running at 8k tomorrow, and I am REALLY excited/nervous.  Let's not let it go unmentioned that I have not been training for this considering I signed up four days ago, but I am sure I will survive right?!?

Many options to chose from:
8k Race, 4-mile Family Walk, or 1-mile Fun Run.
Sounds fun to me!

It goes to a great cause to benefit Juvenile Diabetes Research, and the goal is to beat the University Bridge at the 2 mile mark before it is raised.  I think that makes it exciting, so you don't get stuck :)

All you runners out there .... what's your favorite upbeat song to run to?  I am getting my iPod ready with some jams!

Let's hope these sore chubby legs run fast!

Wishful Wednesday ....Regret

I am soooo excited to read everyone's posts because I have a feeling they are going to be some of the most random responses in Wishful Wednesday history!

Now, I will prepare you, mine is odd!

'I wish' .... I hadn't thrown
away my collection of receipts!!

When it comes to money, my family is meticulous to detail, and it's expected for us to be fully aware of our financial situation.  I have never been charged an overdraft fee nor paid interest on a credit card, and I have to thank my parents for instilling this at an early age.

Growing up with a dad as a financial planner, my family was beyond skilled at keeping receipts, and it isn't surprising that they still are to this day.  With that being said, it was ritual and ingrained in me the day I got my first credit card to compare each and every receipt at the end of the month with the credit card bill to make sure the charges were accurate.

I had a file folder of receipts matching their statement separated by the month and year, and I knew exactly where to go when I needed a receipt.  Well, once I got married, Gabe vetoed this and made fun of my piles of paper that I would spread out all over my bed and review.  Just like a receipt ninja!!!!

He encouraged me with the technology of online banking, this wasn't necessary.  I have to admit, I am really proud of myself for being able to "let go" after being so organized.  Let me tell you, it was a BIG deal leaving the receipt in the check holder at the restaurant, and for the first month I would show Gabe I that I would leave it for the server to dispose of.

WELL, on the flip side, it is SO SO SO  fun to look back on old credit card receipts and see what the heck you spent your income on or treated yourself to.  I found an old credit card bill from my freshman year of college, and I spent an hour flipping through to see what the heck I bought.  I apparently was keeping BeBe in business.

So, I somewhat wish I didn't dispose of all my past receipts because it's part of my history that helped shape who I am today.  Another funny quirk about me is that I put EVERY expense, if possible, on my credit card and pay it off each month so I can accurately budget!  You will never find this lady paying with cash because it just disappears, and it's not traceable.

What do you wish
you didn't throw away??
