Lalalalala SV

Gabe and I like to this of this as our first real road-trip together while living in Seattle.  We take 3-4 hour trips here and there ... to the OR coast, the WA peninsula, up to Whistler, etc .... but this was our first BIG trip traveling to SunValley, Idaho.  We chose to road-trip it so we could take the pups, and I am SO glad we did as it was the perfect get-a-way.  The 10 hour trip was easy breezy (Gabe drove 90% of the way), and my trusty Subaru Outback was a champ along the way.

Sun Valley has been on my list of places to go as it is a very common place for Seattleites to have a vacation home, suppose to have great skiing, and a fun village with shops and restaurants.  It was SUCH a beautiful place and reminded me a lot of Snowmass in Aspen.  I already want to go back :)

When I asked my girlfriend what to pack ...
she said, "Lots of fur, snow boots, and big sunnies"

Biggest coffee of my life - Gabe thought I needed this while he slept

Not too shabby of a drive

Yay for a week in Sun Valley with the hubs

Let the craziness begin with great friends

This vacation was better than any other because "Monkey" got to come
no kennel or friend-staycation for her and Willis :)

Jenn, me, Tiff, Kristina

What better way to end a night after lots of traveling ... cards.
Liverpool to be exact!

Gabe is always the dog whisperer attracting them always

We got to experience Sun Valley's first dump of snow all season.  They're known for their man-made snow on the slopes, but we enjoyed every bit of the real stuff while we were there.

Heading out to hit the slopes

Dinner at Sawtooth in downtown Ketchum

The group all bundled up

Blogger isn't being my friend, SO part 2 is next ...

I love my Subaru Outback, too. The good ol' shaggin wagon just hit 200k and it's still running like a champ!

If you loved SV in the wnter, definitely make it a point to go in the summer. Warm weather, mountains that feel like they are right there and so many great outdoor activities to do as well as a great amphitheater with great artists who come to town.

I love road trips and this one looks awesome! When we PCS'd from Georgia to Washington back in August, we stopped in Idaho for a night...Twin Falls was the name of the town and oh my gosh, it was such a cute little place with the most BEAUTIFUL canyon I've ever laid eyes on! Total gem!! It didn't hurt that I got a pretty awesome ACTUAL dinner that night too instead of fast food:p

P.S I'm gonna totally need one of those coffee cups for after the baby arrives;)
