Royal Wedding

How cute are they!!!

I may be one of the only in America to admit this,
but as of this afternoon I really could care less about the Royal Wedding.

Am I your typical girlie girl ... yes!
Do I love weddings ... yes!
Do I love staying up on what's going on in the world ... yes!

It's so odd though because I had so many friends say, "Of all people who I assumed would be interested and intrigued by the Royal Wedding ... it would be you." But, nope not me.  I never once considered setting an alarm for 1am or even setting the Tivo for the all-day events.  Heck, I didn't know the agenda .... BUT of course I got lured in this afternoon when I turned it on to catch a glimpse.  I assumed this would happen though.

I cannot imagine the pressure of being raised a commoner and joining the Royal Family, but boy is Kate the perfect gal to fill those shoes.  She carries herself with grace and is absolutely beautiful in every aspect of her life (that we get to see)!!!  I personally wasn't wowed by her Alexander McQueen gown or the dress for the reception, but what does my opinion matter :)  I for some reason expected something more unique that couldn't be fathomed, but with the restrictions she had it really was pretty.

Did you love her dress?
Is it everything you expected?
Did you want more from their kiss on the balcony?

I actually did love both of her dresses...probably not for myself but I thought she looked flawless and regal. She is gorgeous and so natural so she could probably wear a trash bag and make it look classy.

I woke up at 2:45am and watched the whole thing till it was over. It was so beautiful and amazing to watch this. I LOVE the Royal Family

I loved the dress, but I'm a pretty classic girl (I have to say, I, too, expected something more unique, though). I thought she was beautiful. I ended up getting to watch some at the gym this morning, but I was not about to give up my sleep for it!

I LOVED her dresses, I don't think she could have looked more amazing and beautiful than she did. So very Grace Kelly, so gorgeous =)

I had no interest either until I saw some footage on the internet and of course, every single blogger I follow posted about it today. So now I'm catching up on the actual event. A little late to the party, but that's ok!

I LOVED her wedding dress! But I love lace and I thought it was just so beautiful on her. I haven't seen the other one yet though.

I thought her dress so so very classy & modest! It was perfect for a princess!!

I'm actually really glad she didn't do anything unique, the last thing you want to do is look back in 30 years and say "what was I thinking!?" ha. I love a good classic look and she can pull it off so well! I wasn't going to stay up and watch everything but once it started I got a second wind and was too excited to sleep :] I love the royal family and all there craziness ha.

I've been watching ALL day long!!! I'm a little obsessed. I love Kate, she's adorable! And Harry is such a cutie, forget Will. I think Harry and Pippa should start dating; how cool would that be!!!

Kristin said...

I didn't watch the whole thing either, just clips online today. While her dress wasn't MY style, I thought it looked beautiful on her!

Kristin said...

Oh yeah and I did think their kiss was a little boring! But I guess it had to be with the Queen watching, ha!

I thought there was going to be more ta-da about the wedding and day but it was was pretty simple and understated....kinda fits their personalities.

Yeah I didn't stay up either, and I am a wedding planner! Lol but I knew they'd replay it and I work long days :-) Actually I am watching it as we speak. lovely lovely dress, she's so poised and gorgeous!

I actually LOVED both of her dresses. Simple, but oh so elegant. She seems like a very classy lady & I think the dresses suited her perfectly. I didn't stay up to watch it, nor did I tivo it, but I was able to see the most important parts replayed on TV...and on people.com :)

LOVED the dresses. She looked stunning.

As far as the wedding itself, it was very nice, but I was much more focused on Kate - she was flawless. I can't even imagine getting married with almost the entire world watching, and she was just spot on and so composed. I would be sweating bullets and probably speaking so quietly the groom wouldn't even hear me. I was totally in awe.

The kiss, eh. It was small, but I think it was cute that way. Short and sweet, hehe.

So glad I watched =]

Girl, with you ALL the way! Everything you said is exactly how I felt. Ha! Still have yet to watch anything about it. I seriously didn't even know the day they were getting married. :)

Ditto to everything you said! I wasn't interested at all, but did enjoy the few clips I saw yesterday afternoon after the thing was over. Kind of bizarre that so many people were OBSESSED about the Royal Wedding, but hey, I'm obsessed with avocados. It all evens out :)
Have a great day, girl!

I had to turn the TV off, there was nothing BUT the royal wedding on and let's face it, once I saw the dress nothing else mattered....
I actually liked her sisters bridesmaid dress better, sexy!
I read that Canada gave them a wedding gift -$50k
Where is my gift from my country , ha!

I loved her first dress, though wish she had worn her hair up to showcase the gorgeous high collar! The 2nd dress was ok, I was thinking it would be a bit more form fitting, more "party-ish" for the reception. In fact something like her sisters dress would have been fabulous. Oh well, no body asked me! haha

I don't think anyone could of pulled off the dress cept her. Same with the lace sleeves. Gotta have her body for that type dress.

I had no interest in waking to watch them get married. Same goes for any other celebrities! Only wedding I've watched on TV was the first Bachelorette Trista marry Ryan on live television.

Truth? I didn't even realize it was yesterday morning until I read it on an east coast friend's blog who had gotten up at her much more reasonable hour of 4 am. :) But when I got home, I confess, totally sucked into the re-broadcasts and commentaries. And I even confess that I watched the really lame Lifetime movie about their story, although what is true about it I have no idea, lol. I thought she was lovely, and radiant - and he looked totally smitten, even though he has to be "proper." Fun fun.

Katie said...

Oh finally someone who doesn't go all crazy about her dress ;)
I thought it was really classy and such, but i really was hoping for something more unique (espacially since her dress looked almost exactly like Grace Kellys).

Sara Lynn said...

I was just like you, Didn't carea thing about it until I turned it on getting ready for work. But I did only watch 30 mins of it and did not tivo it! haha I actually did love her dress, though I am rather simple.

It was so hard not to get sucked in! I watched/ followed it day online at work. Oops! Ha

I watched the whole thing and loved it. Her dress was gorgeous, and style wise etc. I think she chose wisely. I watch all kinds of royal weddings and such but this one was special to me. Not sure why. However, the kiss was way too short and weird, though still cute. I would have done the same I guess, having grandma, ehhmm, the Queen, standing almost next to me. ;)

I actually loved Kate's dress, it was simple but stunning.
Her reception dress was a little boring but still pretty.

And I got sucked into it, I woke up early so I could watch it but I was lucky and got to go back to bed when it was over. I thought it was a beautiful wedding.

Her dress was absolutely gorgeous, but I really don't care very much about the Royal Wedding. I just wanted to see what Joan Rivers said about it on E!'s Fashion Police last night.

Bahahahaha.

I had no desire to get up either. I need my beauty sleep. ha! I did catch some of the news footage. i thought she was absolute beautiful. I thought her dress was simple. I also loved her evening dress. She is tall and so thin. I am wishing I was built like her. I guess that is why I liked it so much.

I was lucky enough to watch it on east coast time so I didn't get up until 5:45am to see the Queen arrive! I have been so ready for this wedding--I love weddings and I love when something happy and positive is in the news. I thought her dresses were great--loved the lace on her wedding dress and loved everything about her reception dress!! Glad you did get to see some of it!!

I was the same way until I was up at 1:30 and there was nothing else to watch. I ended up staying awake for a few hours just to watch more. It was so easy to get hooked.

Christen said...

I absolutely loved her dress; she looked so classic and lovely. I don't know if that dress would have worked on just anyone, but she definitely pulled it off. :)

See... I didn't get sucked in until the night before. I got up and watched it. I thought it was really beautiful.

I totally didnt care at ALL...and then all of the sudden, I cared.. It was weird! haha! :) But, I loved her dress, her sister's dress, etc. I loved it when he looked at her and said she looked beautiful... I just loved it all. :) YAY Royal Wedding! lol!

I blogged about it today and I am with you on the dress I didn't care for it but I did like her second dress much better then the first one.

Since the rumors were that it was going to be McQueen, I was expecting it to be a bit less classic...but it was certainly gorgeous!

Carol {Everyday Delights} said...

Yep, as you know I was one of the crazy people that woke up at 1 a.m. and watch the whole thing - I loved it! Did you see her second dress? that one was really pretty too. They were thinking that was probably the type of dress she would have worn if she didn't have to be so conservative and covered for the wedding.

Carol {Everyday Delights} said...

haha just saw I missed the last part of your post about the second dress - guess I posted too quick before I scrolled down all the way! ;)

Heyy Kelsey! I'm right with you on setting my alarm clock. Some of my girlfriends did. But you know theres going to be so many highlights and recaps on TV that you can watch later on. Waking up at the crack of dawn seemed silly to me. Also, all the gossip magazines will be publishing everything about the weekend.
I like the black and white picture you found of them. Is it weird to say they look so normal?? lol I mean I know they are but its such a relaxed and happy photo.
I love Kate! I think shes just beautiful and has been carrying herself so well from the engagement up until the wedding. Her style is classy, chic and fashionable. I thought her dress was beautiful! I honestly wouldn't wear it to my own wedding. Her makeup was flawless.
I heard the kiss on the balcony was scheduled and practiced! I'm not sure if thats true.

First time here.
I think she gets a 10 for the wedding dress.
The next ten goes for the church decoration.
It simply looked great, maybe becue of the addition of the trees.

Let it be known I was up at 3am CST watching this with mimosa in hand and a homemade head piece on my head! It was fab!

LOVED her dress, LOVED their wedding - Love it all!!

My bff had a Royal Wedding sleepover and we stayed up all night to watch it. Hehe.

I thought it was a beautiful wedding. I loved how her dress was very elegant and regal, but also very simple. It stayed true to her gentle personality. :)

I think Kate was the perfect "commoner" to join the Royal family. I heard she is financially practical (there were a lot of economic cutbacks on this wedding, at her request) and is very simple.

I wished the balcony kiss had been more romantic, but I guess when you have 3 billion people watching you, it's not exactly the most intimate moment. Lol.

The same as you..everything you said..I thought I was the only one that felt that way! Nice finding you Seattle, I'm Gig Harbor!

I was on vacation so even if I wanted to see it, I couldn't (they did have a viewing of it on our cruise ship, but sleep was more important ;). Kate was such a beautiful bride and I completely agree that I can't picture any other commoner filling the shoes of a Princess than Kate.

Posh Peach said...

I didn't think I'd get into it, but loved watching and seeing all the details. I really liked the second dress and thought the first was befitting of a princess :) Not what I'd wear, but beautiful for Kate!

kim {the non-mom blogger} said...

I agree - she has such poise and class. Perfect royalty!

Llama said...

I loved her dress! I thought it was simple and elegant!
I too didn't wake up early or DVR the event. I just watched clips and looked at pictures. Im satisfied. LOL!

Jamie said...

I guess I was thankful something entertaining was on tv while vacation back in the midwest. I was up with a sick little baby and had something to watch while rocking her in the rocking chair. I agree on the wedding dress, not my personal fave, but given restrictions, I'm sure it was the best she could do! i'm having a hard enough time finding outfits for Kyle's corporate weekend outing next weekend let alone a royal wedding! Count me out on that one ~ but snaps to Kate for joining the family!
