Ahhh the RAIN!

Let's just put it this way, these have officially come out of the closet and will have a very special place in my heart until January or February.

After moving to Seattle in Aug 06, these rainboots were a much needed purchase once October rolled around.  I went out on a whim and decided I would at least be fashionable while looking dreary and like a drowned rat throughout the day, and they were the best purchase I have probably made!

I ....
1. walk the dogs in them
2. wear them to work
3. hike in them

4. and more importantly they cheer me up on any rainy day!!

Today was a start of many to come,
and "the boots" were very effective in the Seattle downpour.

My parents made it in town for a spur of the moment trip ..... and it has rained nonstop!  This afternoon, we stopped by Gabe's office to say hello and grab a cup of coffee together.  I taught dad about "the" Cinnamon Dolce --- aka my favorite drink EVER!  He is a drip man, doesn't like fancy drinks, and wouldn't even know what to order if the plain jane beverage wasn't available.  Yay for teaching him something new and getting him hooked on a $4.50 venti drink!  Momma got the Pumpkin Spice Latte, which so many of you bloggers live for, and it makes me want to throw up.  Now sure how ya'll drink it ....

We also took Dad to my favorite Thai restaurant, Royal Orchid, which is a tradition every time my mom comes in town on her overnights (she is a flight attendant and is in SEA every couple months), and it was a first for him.  Definitely a little nervous after they served him soup he was not at all interested in, but he loved the rest of the meal.  The owner came over and told my dad, "you're an expert with those chopsticks!"  :)  Gotta love hole.in.the.walls.

I had never eaten thai food before moving to Seattle, and I have especially adventured out with all of my eating habits *which isn't very much* so I love sharing my favorites with others!

Happy weekend all around!

Thai food is one of my absolute favorite things to eat. We've found a new Thai place near us & they are so so yummy!!

First of all, I love the wellies!! I adored my pair of Burberry rain boots!! Unfortunately, our dog decided that they reminded him of his chew toy and let's just say that they weren't exactly waterproof by the time he finished. (It made me SICK! Literally sick.)

Secondly, I'm with you on the pumpkin spice lattes. I was totally into them last year...and I have ordered two this year and both have been absolutely undrinkable! Yuck!! :) (Of course I don't want to admit that in the blogosphere! haha!)

Hope you have a fabulous weekend!! :)

I soooo agree with the Pumpkin latte. Ugh...
I am going to have to do a double WW this week. Didn't get to it last, but I know what my talent would be :)
Love the boots. I have a pair of Hunter boots that I pulled on whenever it rains. Great for the curb puddles that can be very deep and unassuming! Have a great weekend!!!

Love the boots!!!

I just got my parents to eat some Thai food for the very first time a couple of weeks ago - they begrudgingly admitted they liked it.

I'm sad for you that you don't like the Pumpkin Spice, but I will have to try the Cinnamon Dolce.. sounds delish!

I wasn't a huge fan of the Pumpkin Spice Latte either. It was OK. but that was it. Caramel Apple Spice was really really good. I might have to try your Cinnamon Dulce now. I've made it a personal goal of mine to try any venti drinks (mostly from Starbucks I presume) that you guys blog about because I've never been a huge coffee drinker and don't even really like it enough to have it ever day, but I'm trying to branch out and try new things! =)

Have a great great day! And just an fyi...those boots are FABULOUS! as you already rightfully know!!!

Those boots are fabulous! I feel like Tulsa has gotten a ton more rain and snow in the past few years. Just two years ago, I was out of power for 13 days with an ice storm! What?! I have some uggs, but I'm kinda over them. I'm rambling, but long and short-your boots are fab and I want some! ha! :) and mmmm to thai food! mmmmm!! Glad you're having a good weekend with the parents-I should totally try that cinnamon drip! I like the caramel apple spice cider b/c I'm not a huge coffee person.. but I love cinnamon! Have a great rest of your weekend!

So happy your parents popped in for a visit Kelsey...fun fun! How weird...I had never eaten Thai food until moving to Seattle either. There's a lovely (hole in the wall) Thai food joint here on Bainbridge that has some of the best food actually I've ever tasted. Oh...and of course I adore your rain boots...you stylish girl you! XXOOXX

I actually loving the rain living in Southern CA, we don't get that much but when we do I love it! :) Thanks for entering into my giveaway, BTW, I am off to catch up on the rest of your blog!

I absolutely love those boots! They're so classic - you can wear them for the rest of your life. I wish it rained enough in Cali to justify why I need them so that my husband would understand!
