Me-oh-my

I am becoming more of a hippy and granola gal by the second. Maybe not fully, but I told myself when I moved from Texas that I would never drive a Subaru. Well, now I do and am totally in love with the practicality of it being in the PNW.

Now, Keens. Me-oh-my. These just make me laugh. I just purchased my first pair of Keens (and have yet to pull off the tag as they are a slight stretch for me) from REI as Seattleites swear by them. And, in all honesty they will be perfect for my trekking in Thailand. That will be the real test ;) I was modeling them for Gabe last night, and he said I looked like a triathlete with them in addition to my attire.

Bam, they are intense. I've been told after hiking, camping, and doing anything in water, i will never go back. Those "granola" gals got nothing on me .... As I will never wear them with socks. Yes, many do!!!

Do you wear Keens?!

My aunt has Keens and she LOVES them!!! She wears them everywhere. She is very outdoorsy and has a sailboat, so she never takes them off.
Yes they are a bit goofy and my cousins ssay they are totally granola too LOL but if they protect your feet and are good for your soles, then by all means I am more than positive you can pull them off without looks goofy :)

OK. I get the reason for them. However I am not sure if I would ever wear them. You are a brave girl :)

I don't have any but I was just in Hawaii and really wished I had them for hiking and scrambling all over lava rocks. Let us know how you like them!

I don't own any Keens, but I sold a whole lotta them when I was working at a sporting goods store during college.

I have tried them out many times and they are definetly comfy and perfect if you do a lot of outdoor activity!

One of my good friends has a pair and SWEARS by them!

I love my Keens. Mine are mary jane style. I'm not a fan of the "sandal" type.

I am a chaco gal but keens are good too! I liked Chaco's bc they have a life warranty on the soles.

Nashvillians are in love with Keens, too! Lofton has a pair, and he rocks them fairly well, but I'm in love with my Chacos. I think you'll look great in them as long as you don't wear them with socks!?!? That is crazy!

hahhaha as long as you're not wearing them with socks, it's all good. my co-worker wears them year-round (with socks) and he did the breast cancer 60-mike walk in them, so i think it's safe to say they'll be great for places like Thailand!

You are an official Seattle-ite! I actually don't have any, but I think you are right, they would be great for Thailand! Actually if I had been more forward thinking I totally would have looked into them for our trip!

OMG I want Keens!! I look forward to your reviews.

I do wear them! They are so comfortable and lots of people wear them in my area.

I love a great pair of heels like the next gal but Keens are very comfy!

I have not even heard of these. I can only imagine how comfy they are! Enjoy!

I felt the same way, but since marrying my hubby who is from the PNW and now living out in Boulder, CO I feel like I am definitely getting more granola-y and I'm surprisingly ok with it! I have a pair of turquoise Keens and I love them! They are so comfy yet tough, and so so versatile!

BTW I cannot wait to hear all about your trip to Thailand!!

I've never heard of Keens before. And to be honest, I'm kinda glad. :)
Not sure if I would ever wear those but to each their own.

I love it!!! I too find myself getting that way, I thought when I was a mom, I would still be a super strict, iron fist kinda parent, but now I find myself being more like "oh, just go wherever the wind blows you, create your own identity, paint on the walls, color on the hardwood, just do whatever your heart desires haha!!!

about the keens, my hubs loves them. super functional. if not a little hippy and granola :)

I love Keens. I have been wearing them for over 5 years. I wear them hiking, fishing, boating, on the beach, etc. My husband and two girls also wear them. They are also so easy to clean if you ever get them muddy. Most importantly, the are comfy.

Kelsey,
I have a pair of Keene and they are fabulous for walking, hiking etc., ugly but very, very comfortable. You will be hooked.

My hubs has tried to get me on the Keens or Chaco's wagon and I have been majorly resisting. But you look super cute in yours :)

Can't wait to hear what you think! We lovingly call those "lesbian shoes" ha but I did just buy my boy a pair of them!

keens are a staple here. LOVE them...we all wear them, enjoy! A great purchase!

I admit; they are CRAZY goofy but I LOVE them!I wore them in Africa and they are so comfy. My only regret is I got tan which is a little clunky looking. The black looks cute! You will be over the goofy look pretty quick when you are still standing after walking miles!

Love it! I moved to Seattle and bought a Prius - I think that is up there with Keens :)
