Wishful Wed ....Novel

'I wish' .... I could play a character's role in a book and it would be Mrs. Tuohy from The Blind Side!

How can you go wrong with a #1 New York Times Bestseller in the category Paperback Nonfiction!  Not only did I LOVE the movie, but I enjoyed the book.

Mrs.  Tuohy was a evangelical Christian, raised by a racist father, and took a huge stride through society to change the life of one special guy, Michael Oher.  She gave him a second chance in live and thrive in life, and boy did he take advantage of an opportunity given!  It was inspirational story line, left me in tears, and was incredibly touching.

This was based on a real story, and Mrs Tuohy told the author, "God gives people money to see how you are going to handle it," and the author, Michael Lewis, put it, "She intended to prove she knew how to handle it."

This helped put things in perspective and encourage me to think about things differently.  I want to be remembered for impacting others in a way that is unforgettable.  I hope when all things are said and done, I will be proud of the life I lived without regrets and walked by faith the entire step of the way!

I have heard such amazing things about this novel and character! I know the lovely Sandra Bullock plays her in the movie (haven't seen it yet), and so that'll be a great face to put to the character when I read it (hopefully soon)!

Haven't read nor seen the movie. WHY?!! I know I must. AND I will for sure. It hasn't come out over here which is quite sad,*unless it has but I can't find it anywhere* but no worries...I'll be over there soon and will "fill me in in everything I missed over the past few months". :)

Happy Wednesday! :D

Kelsey - I'm from Memphis and attended Ole Miss. I actually met LeAnne at an Ole Miss game this past season! She's just as amazing in person as she's reflected in the book and movie! :) GREAT choice!!!

I'm also from Memphis & know several people who know the real Mrs. Tuohy. My neighbor was her teacher in school & kept in touch with her through college. They've all had remarkable things to say about her. What a great choice!

GREAT choice! I saw the movie, but haven't read the book. I had no idea her father was a racist, maybe now I need to read the book to see what else I'm missing.

I desperately need to get back in the blogging world! It's been way too long since I have done a wishful Wednesday! I think if I could play any character it would be Carrie Bradshaw (so unoriginal) just because I love the depths of the friendship between the characters!

You're so cute. Love your thoughts and I will definitely have to get that book. I am dying to see the movie but haven't had the chance. I loved your when all is said and done line, I too wish those things. :)

Hello!

Thanks for the follow, I was admiring your layout hehe. I'm trying to figure out a new one for my blog but I don't know what I want... booo!

My husband actually didn't get why I wanted to make Hamburger Helper... but it hit him while we were eating haha. I'm a fan of Hamburger Helper... but without the hamburger part :) I just like the pasta alone!

That was the sweetest movie ever, and I know I'd love the book too. For some reason I hate a reading book after I've watched the movie though.
