Slightly random tidbits?!

-  Olympics, Olympics, and more Olympics!  Is it odd that I only really enjoy watching the Americans and want to fast forward through the other countries?  I would be watching 100 hours of TV if I didn't.

-  This weekend was a tease for spring .... gorgeous 55 degree weather and not a cloud in the sky.

-  I have recently re-fallen in love with Ritz Crackers and JIFF extra crunchy peanut butter!  I ate this for lunch growing up since I wouldn't eat turkey for lunch unless it was really cold and right out of the fridge

-  My best friend had a brilliant idea to clean out each of our closets, but little did Mollie know what she was getting herself into.  I went first, and apparently I am embarrassed to say I haven't really (top to bottom) cleaned out my closet since college, and a few items had even sneaked in from high school.  We only made it through one of my closets.  Yes, I sadly have multiple closets since the clothes have just stocked up.  We had five stuffed trash bags full of clothes to giveaway and others to sell at a consignment store.  Mollie was a huge help, and we even pulled out the video camera to document a few lovely items that were just priceless.  It feels so great to have one closet knocked out, but I still have a whole lot more to do!  It's so sad since I know how much I paid for it all ..... That's my excuse of why I still held on to so much even though it was oh, so, out of style!  Thank goodness for friends to be honest and say, "heck no" when I tried to justify it -- hah!!!!

-  My brother, sister in law, and nephew are coming to Seattle in exactly two weeks!!!

-  I got the new Blackberry Tour and am in love solely because it has Sudoku on it!!!  It has a ton of other additions that make it a notch above the Curve, but Word Mole and Sodoku make it worthwhile!

-  My cousin, Gaylen, had a baby just a couple days ago and was a total trooper.  Her cute itty bitty self delivered a 10 lb baby, yes you read correctly .... Paisley is just adorable and a blessing to us all!

-  Ethos water from Starbucks is my favorite.  The shape of the water bottle makes drinking water easy :)

-  Harley and Willis need haircuts SOOOOO bad, but I am rebelling and waiting till it warms up since I don't want them to be cold without their winter coats.  It's still slightly too chilly for a real haircut!

-  Gabe tried to make me see Shutter Island, and I told him I would "tee tee" my pants in the theater if he made me go!  I hate horror/scarythriller movies and even scream when I get scared no matter where I am when I watch it.  I am one of those people that feel like I am the one running to survive .....

-  I miss my extended family and hope one day my grandparents can visit me in Seattle!

Doesn't it feel so great to clean out all of that stuff, though? I always like to get rid of things - makes me feel lighter, somehow!

I read "Shutter Island", and the book was very good - not at all scary, just dramatic and suspenseful. I haven't seen the movie though, so I don't know how true to the story they stayed!

ooooo peanut butter.

Oh and Shutter Island wasn't that scary.... I only screamed once. :)

I would not see shutter island either. Luckily for me Ricky hates scary movies.

1)Agree with you completely about the Olympics.
2)I am dreading the anticipated snow this week... just when I was getting used to rolling my windows down in the car.
3)You and I are the same when it comes to clothes.
4)Sudoku is one of the greatest games out there!
have a great Monday!

Peanut butter is delightful on anything! Good choice. And, I can only imagine you and Mollie de-cluttering your closet. Just think of it this way - TAX WRITE OFF!

Does it make you feel good to clean out your closets? I try to clean mine out every 3 months and I love doing it:)

I have the Tour and let me tell you that word mole and sudoku are very very addictive. My boyfriend will look over and ask what I am doing and then pause and say "how many games of sudoku have you played?"

I do the same thing with olympics

And I have been eating saltines and peanut butter like they are going out of style

Shutter Island was very scary :(

I need a new blackberry...I'll just have to check out the Tour!!!

And I'm so obsessed with the Olympics. I just can't quit them:)

Those shutter island previews are misleading! It is not scary. Its actually about something else entirely! We saw it yesterday and it was really good!

I love the feeling after you have tackled something huge, like the closet overhaul! Good for you!

Oh love, Bret and I are right there with you on the Olympics - They are on ALL.THE.TIME. We love them!! And how stinkin' cute is Bode Miller?!

Kristen said...

Great idea having someone help you clean out the closets. I tend to hang on to things that are out of date "just in case"...in case of what I am not sure.

I'm not a huge fan of the winter olympics in general, but if I watch it, it would only be American teams. I am also not a fan of scary movies & I have to clean my closet out frequently otherwise I would probably die from things avalanching (totally not a word!) down at me. I hate giving my pup a haircut in the winter, too! :(

Don't you just love the Tour! I've got a great game you should download! I'm not sure how your App World works, but go into the search and type in Pixelated. It's free and I'm telling you, you'll be addicted in no time!

girl we went to see shutter island this weekend and it's not that scary i promise!!! xoxo

I am totally in love with the Olympics too! My DVR is getting full because I am not keeping up with my usual shows!

My best friend ALWAYS helps me clean out my closet...if it weren't for her, it would never get done!

Doesn't it feel great though to get rid of things you don't need anymore! I did the same thing last week and I feel way better knowing that I've got rid of just stuff.

Baby Momma said...

haha I love that you like the Ethos water b.c it's easy drink-ability! Too funny! Congrats on cleaning out your closet (literally not metaphorically) it reminds me I REALLY REALLY REALLY need to do that for my husband...he has more clothes than even I do!!!

Do you love Seattle? I've always wanted to go there!!

Love your random thoughts and updates! So glad you are back! Last spring I cleaned out my closet for the first time since High School! I had 5 garbage bags full! It was a good feeling, but I have since filled the empty spots with more clothes! Opps.

Michelle said...

Cleaning is good for the soul! And the final result is so worth it! Good job.
And who doesn't love peanut butter? Deliciousness.

Ashley said...

Oh, my closets...YOu dont even want to know how ond some of the clothes are! It is sad. But, as long as there is enough closet space in the house, I will hold onto all those clothes. Most of them have not fit in years...but you NEVER know! :)
My husband LIVES for ritz crackers and peanut butter. Too funny.

I still have so many clothes that I've had for years! I just don't want to give them away because what if I need to wear it one day? :)

And crunchy peanut butter and Ritz sound delish right about now!

i'm so with you on the olympics! i've had such a blast watching team USA that i haven't even wanted to watch anyone else!

Word Mole is my new favorite pasttime. Whenever I have to wait for ANYTHING, I pull out my trusty ol' buddy and get to spelling.

When I first saw previews for Shutter Island, I thought it would be really good, but the more previews I saw, the more detail they showed and the more scared I got. Not sure when/if I'll be seeing it!

MCW said...

Shutter Island looks terrifying. I know I would have my eyes closed the entire time. xo

So glad you're back! I did the same thing on my own closet last month... but it sounds more fun with friends! And I didn't get all the way thru either. I held on to things b/c I remembered what I paid for them... and ALSO because of memories. Do I really need the dress I wore for HS graduation? (That my mom bought me at the somewhat pricey boutique in my small town?) I have pics of myself in it - isn't that enough? Finally, the answer was YES! And it felt great. :)

Glad you're back from vacay - we missed you! :)

That's so funny abuot the closets b/c I did the same thing this weekend.. and have 5 bags for goodwill! I, too, had many items from college.. *head hung in shame* I know I made a HUGE dent, but I guarantee I still didnt get rid of everything I needed to. Wow. I have a closet full (not a walk in though), a standing clothes rack, a dresser full and a sweater organizer full. Oh and three storage bins. Wow.

And I kinda want to see Shutter Island but I know I'll regret that. hahah! :)

Sarah said...

Oh, you HAVE to see Shutter Island--TJ and I went to the theater yesterday afternoon to see it...it's SOOO good! It's not so much a horror movie as it is a suspense/mystery movie.

Peanut butter and crackers sound so good...I'm still eating Sweethearts from Valentines Day!

call me a snob, but I only have eyes for the good 'ol USA!! That's all I'm really interested in, lol! I heard good and bad things about Shutter Island so I think it'll be one of those where I'll just wait for it to come out on dvd. I really need to do a good cleaning too!

My Gussy goodies are on their way, I had one of them custom made so I'm excited to see it! pics when they come:o)

I'm glad I'm not the only one with out of control closets!

And don't worry! I refuse to see Shutter Island, too! I'm such a chicken about those scary movies. I won't sleep for weeks!

Jen said...

Oh, my Lhasa desperately needs some grooming. I hate to admit it, but he is a mass of knots and matted hair! Poor thing.

Congrats on cleaning out a closet! I know from personal experience that it is hard work, and it can be painful to get rid of something you paid a lot for and only wore a few times! It's nice to be more organized and simplify.

Sierra said...

Hope you get to see your relatives soon and my closet needs to be cleaned pronto! Peanut butter sounds yummy, delish! I saw Shutter Island and shuttered but in a good way. I hate movies like that but actually liked this one! :)

I am right there with ya girl! I would NEVER go see Shutter Island, ever!

Did you watch the Ice Dancing from last night?

FancyPants said...

1. I love that you watch the Olympics even if you fast forward because I sell the Olympics.

2. I clean my closets, dressers, drawers, kitchen cabinets, etc. yearly. Me and my 3 bestfriends do, then we get together and have a hen garage sale, where we have margarita's and make money - that we use to pay for our girls trip for the year. Seriously, with all the crap we accumulate over the year, we make enough for the FOUR of us to go on a vacation, the proceeds pay our airfare and hotel and usually one good meal. :)

Don't worry, we also dontate - :)

Hannah, Here! said...

I'm the same way about scary movies, but you should see Shutter Island!! It's a great movie.
