The wonderful Teresa - from Blooming on Bainbridge, spiced up the Wishful Wednesday button this week, and I don't think we could be any more festive to bring in 2010?!?! If you aren't already a follower of hers, go visit her asap! She is definitely a top contender in my book of lovely ladies, and it doesn't hurt that she's from the south living in the Pacific Northwest! It's people like her who brighten my day (as well as everyone else's), are brought into my life for a reason, and I get oh so excited every time I see an e-mail pop in from. Plus, Doogan and my pups are long lost friends, and maybe one day I can cook as perfectly as her!
Okay, moving on, this past week's topic was dedicated to the last Wishful Wednesday for 2009 ...
'I wish' .... Santa would have remembered
my Canon Rebel XSi was on my list!
I became obsessed with this camera after playing with Arrie and Jordan's and Abby's, and I have been dropping little hints to only be shot down each time by the hubby. He says we don't need a big fancy camera like this right now, but when we have a little bun in the oven then by ole' means it's reasonable. If you say so ......
Abby and I both had the first model of the Canon Elph, then we both upgraded to the recent version, and I would have really loved to upgrade again to this beauty! So, at least I know I have something to look forward to once I am pregnant!!! Just throwing that out there -- hah!

Hubby told me the SAME EXACT THING when I told him I wanted a Canon Rebel - why do I have to wait for such a nice camera UNTIL we have kiddies?! Gah!

I too would love loove that camera! I think that is a wonderful baby in the oven gift! I think Ill save it when that time comes for me too!
I have this camera and you have good reason to be obsessed. It is AHHHHmazing!!! Def purchase one soon if you can. Definitely a great investment!

Sorry you didn't get the camera. I keep shooting my husband down when he talks about a video camera. I said that we can wait until we have a baby. Maybe you'll get it for Valentine's.

That is a beauty of a camera. I've all of a sudden had the urge to get a big fancy one too, even though we JUST bought a new digital last March for our Honeymoon. Oh well...according to your hubby's theory, now that I have a bun in the oven I can have one! Right?!?

I've got a Nikon DSLR (which I looooove!) and I washoping Santa would bring me a new lens this year. No lens :( However, thanks to some generous money gifts from grandparents, it looks like I'll be ordering it today!

Can you give the reason that you would like to learn how to use it BEFORE there is a bun in the oven? I pulled that one this summer. Beware, once you get it, it makes you more fertile. At least it did for me!

I pined after this camera for about a year and then one day I decided that if I wanted it, I was going to have it. I kept searching for the best deals and when one too good to pass up came my way, I told hubby I was getting it and I did. Not only that, it came with two lenses at a steal. He was totally fine with it and was actually impressed with my shopping skills!
Besides, you need to practice on how to get the best pictures with it BEFORE there's the pitter-patter of little feet, right? LOL.
Ps.. I'm super lame (go ahead and laugh) but I'm trying to time my 1000th (whoa) post with my resolutions this year.. haha.. sooo I didnt do Wishful Wed. (Yes, I am lame. I'll keep repeating this but it wont make it any better..) :) BUT I kinda wish Santa had remembered a Wii. I didnt really have it on my list b/c as I told Eric, I'd rather have one if we lived together (we both want one). But, after Christmas, I thought "Wow, I really shoulda asked for that... Hmm" *sigh* :) But very blessed otherwise. Santa was too good to me.

Your comments about the camera and the bun in the oven are too funny because Kyle and I agreed on the same concept. I was pregnant over Christmas and we decided to splurge on all the electronics - a fancy digital SLR camera by Nikkon and an HD video camera by Sony. I will say they were on of the best investments we made prior to the babies arrival. There is nothing better to capture precious moments than having a great camera and video camera to do the job. Plus, look on the bright side, technology becomes dated so quickly that you would want the top of the line when you are pregnant. Just wait it out and something better will come along when your time comes.

oh, but you need your rebel NOW so you can get good practice in before the little one is here ;) i'll be rooting for you! i got one last year, and got a new telephoto lens for it this year. i love it!

So sorry to hear Santa didn't have a camera in his bag for you this year. I dropped mine and broke it on Christmas eve. So, it seems we will both be without a camera for a while... boo hoo.

I got a Nikon, and it is great. I love it, and can use it for EVERYTHING!!!! Hope you get it sometime soon!!

after reading your post on reader i went and researched this camera! pretty sure i want it now as well!!! it is a reasonable price and has a million awesome reviews! i need it, my fiance might compromise that a little one is needed as well ;)

I have a big DLR camera and It does take beautiful pics, but I have to say it also weighs a ton and is harder to tote around, pack etc. Comes with big cords adn chargers too! I am currently looking into the Elph. I have not had one since 2004 !
Also be prepared to read the instruction manuel should you get one!

Have to tell you that is the camera I have and you are right to keep in on your wish list. I love it almost as much as chocolate and shoes!
Santa didn't remember my Rebel either DESPITE it being on my blog post wish list. What up with that? Maybe our Santas haven't been reading our blogs? ah ha ha. Love Teresa and love you! Happy new year lady!
