Wish Wed ....Experience

'I wish' .... I could relive one particular holiday experience over and over again, and it would be waking up on Christmas morning as a kid!

The entire experience, is so exciting .....

weheartit.com

From setting out cookies the night before on the sweetest homemade plate my brother and I made, to anxiously trying to keep our eyes open all night long to "see" Santa, and lastly bolting down the stairs the morning of to see what surprise was left.  I will cherish those days and would love to have every year on video to see the expression on my families face.

Little did I know all the work that went into make Christmas morning so successful as a parent, and I now appreciate all the little gifts my parents surprised us with.  But, the older I get, the more I realize the joy comes from spending time together!  Until ..... I have kids of my own and the gifts will be important again so I can see the grins on their faces  :)

*The best part was Dad forgetting a gift each year, and it ended up always being the mack-daddy present like an Xbox or my first cell phone.  Those were the best!!!

You know my favorite part? Its always the stocking. Always fun stuff in there. Little teeny tiny secrets. The best!

Thats how my Christmas's were too. My sister and I made a plate when we were little(well I was little) for the Santa cookies and reindeer carrots!

Haha, love the "forgetting" of presents. My parents do that too. They're always so creative and sneaky :-) We STILL leave cookies and carrots out for Santa and his reindeer, haha. This WW has really gotten me in the Christmas mood for sure!

I completely agree-I loved Christmas morning!

Although, my parents really do usually forget to give me something. Days later they'll be like "hey, we never gave you that calendar did we?"

It always cracks me up, because it happens prety much every year!

I miss all the excitement Christmas morning too!

I am so glad WW is back! I was really missing it! I will never forget setting out carrots and a Diet Coke for Santa one year when I was little, that's what mom said he liked! haha!

Aww! I have never ever asked Jordan about Christmas morning...Sounds like we need to have a conversation about it! So sweet! I wonder if Gari still has the plate? I would love to see it!

Awww, what a lovely experience. I loved Christmas as a kid. I mean I still do, but the magic that takes place when you are a kid is so great. I miss it!!

I'm with you on this one. Every year I wish I could feel the same excitement I felt as a kid. It's still exciting, but it's different now that I'm older. I know it will be a whole new level of exciting once we have kids of our own to be "santa" for!

Oh Yes!
Sweet "Christmas Morning" memories!
We always opened a gift Christmas Eve...it was always our Christams PJs...you know...for the photo shoot the next morning!
The older my sister, brother and I got...the funnier we were making our BIG entrance into the den for mom & dad!
We would come in carrying each other in all of the hilarious poses..of course the camera was always waiting!

My parents, or should I say my mom, always without fail will forget a present in her closet or somewhere that she forgot to wrap. She usually doesn't realize it or find it until later Christmas day or later that week, ha.

Its kinda become a tradition.

I would like to add something to your dad 'forgetting' the big gift:

Preface:I grew up in the 80's
My mom and dad must of thought they were hilarious because whenever we got something that required a game or something they make us open it first and then pretend like it was wrong. For example, the year I got my stereo with my first CD player I opened up a CD and my mom said "Oops you weren't suppose to open that...that is for your cousin, sorry" as my dad was rounding the corner with my stereo with a CD play. One year we opened up a nintendo game and no ninteno and they said they made a mistake and then made us search for 'one last gift' then we found a wrapped gift in a closet and opened it and it was a nintendo box...well we screamed and hugged each other and then opened the box and there was a rock in it. (Well eventually they pulled out the nintendo) So funny, NOT.

I love this! I know, the older I get the more I try to be truly grateful how my parents take so much time each year to make Christmas so special for my brother and I {even now when I am 25!}. I do love the feeling as a child getting up and opening the gifts and spending time with the family. I can't wait to surprise my kids sometime in the future! :)

P.S. giveaway at my blog land if you like Cold Plasma.

Right now Im catching up on everything in bloggerland! :) Come to Tulsa and let's have a cocktail and cheers for Christmas! Yes? Okay! ha! :)

I miss that feeling too! It seemed so much more magical when I was little...from setting out the cookies to looking in my stocking. I still get excited on Christmas morning though : )

That was THE best feeling! SOO excited when you woke up! Now we sleep in until 10 and usually get mad at anyone who tries to wake up earlier than that.

I'd like to go back to the Christmas of '89, when despite being dirt poor, my Mom surprised us with a Nintendo. It was the present my brother and I both so desperately wanted, but knew better than to expect. I cried I was so happy, and maybe even peed myself a little. OK maybe a lot.

Awww - me too! I remember when my dad pretended to be "Santa Claus" outside my bedroom door. I "heard a noise," woke up, and listened to "Santa" saying "Ho Ho Ho, this little girl deserves a lot of presents this year!" I was SO excited that I jumped back in bed and went to sleep. I didn't want Santa to hear me "eavesdropping"! ha ha ha ha
Hope you're having a great day!!!
