Days aren't long enough

I LOVE the holidays, but let's be honest ....
The Seattle Smith's are overwhelmed!!!!

My tree is still in the garage ...
None of my decorations are up ...
My Christmas cards are still in their box ....

Our minds have been elsewhere trying to stay updated with Mark's condition from the other side of the  country.  We are so thankful that the surgery was successful and they removed 60% of the tumor.  Gamma knife radiation will treat the rest.  He is still in ICU and facing a few complications that I pray will subside quickly.  Thank you all for the sweet comments and prayers for my dear father in law.

To add to the mix, I had two interviews yesterday which have kept me quite busy.  I made it to the final two, and now just waiting for the news.  I am at peace with it either way and better off  because of it.

Who is anxious for December to pass, haha!

I'm glad your FIL surgery went well as well!
I hear ya about being busy this month! I still haven't decorated or bought my tree yet either. I have my small one at work on my desk, but at home nothing! I'll hopefully get to it all this weekend. I hope you get one of the jobs... lots of finger crossing and prayers!

This December is going by too quickly. I haven't had time for decorating or getting a tree either. Hopefully, I'll get everything done by the 15th.

I hope your FIL feels better soon.

cute blog! if it makes you feel any better - I'm in Budapest 'till the 10th and only then do I get to start decorating! My parents are leaving it all to me when I get home (except the lights outside, dad's doing those!) Take a look around my blog if you like, I'm new to this whole blog-world thing :)

Thank goodness everything went well with the surgery. I know it is such a tough thing to deal with any illness especially when you are so far away. I hope he has a great recovery. As for everything else...don't worry about the look of christmas it is the thought, the feeling and it seems that you have that.
good luck with the job search.xo

Guess What Sweet Kelsey Girl!
I give you permission NOT to even put up decorations this year!
You really can opt out one year you know!
Last year when Greg was living here and I was still in Alabama I didn't put one Christmas decoration up. The year before that...we had two new kitties...we chose not to put up a tree that year!
Now your cards...yes...I would send those out!
But the decorations...can stay boxed up and never missed!
XXOOXX
Living in the Northwest...all you have to do is look into the distance and catch a glimpse of those snow covered mountains...that is decor that some would give anything to have!
Have you heard that song:
Christmas in the Norhtwest &
Walking in Seattle Latte Land!

Glad the surgery went well. Hope everything goes okay from here on in. Try not to stress about the holidays - just let it happen. If the decorations go up, then great. If the cards get sent, fantastic. But if not - who cares? Just enjoy!

Wow - a busy few days and weeks. Cancer runs in my family so I'll be thinking about you. This is definitely a time when you need to be strong. Not only for your father-in-law but for yourself as well. Trust in the Lord. He works wonders and always knows what he doing and why he's doing it. I'm headed tomorrow to get one of my cysts/tumors checked out tomorrow w/ an ultrasound so I know the anxiety that comes along with these things. I'm

What great news about your FIL! I have been sending up prayers for your family and will continue to do so!!

Hang in there - December will be over before we know it and normal routines will start back up (or that's what I keep telling myself).

We didn't even put up a tree or do Christmas cards this year (gasp!!!)! We're headed to Colorado for X-mas and life has just been too busy!

Wishing you a great week!
