My girlfriend from college, Meredith, started a weekly series Shopping in YOUR closet! This week is favorite denim, and I just had to chip in my two cents. I have always been a girl who loves designer jeans and will invest in a few too many pairs, but I wear them forever, so I continue to buy them. **Sidenote: I still wear my very FIRST pair of Sevens that I got in high school, ya that is wayyyy too long, but they are still in great/good condition ... (I just counted, and those puppies have gotten SEVEN good years in --- too funny).
Anyways, I have never been a fan of skinny jeans considering I was gifted with an apple bottom and am not anywhere close to being stick skinny. A couple months ago, I was shopping at Forever 21 and had a stack of fun tops to try on, but realized I was wearing a skirt that wouldn't help me the slightest. We all know it is impossible to get the full picture of what the rest of the outfit will look like, so I grabbed the first pair of dark denim jeans I saw in my size. Once I got to the dressing room, I realized they were skinny jeans ... and I thought oh this is going to be funny! I tried them on and absolutely loved them. Better yet, they were $12.50 and have gotten more wear than anything I own. They are so comfortable, a great dark color, and super cute (I think at least)!!!

ReplyDeleteOh my goodness I have those $12.50 jeans too!! I was totally nervous about skinny jeans but I figured I might as well try them out since they were so cheap! But of course, I can never go wrong with my citizens, sevens and hudsons!

ReplyDeleteI moved recently and basically did "Shop in my own closet" because I forgot all the great clothes I had! I too love designer jeans and found 2 new pairs of True Religion that were in great condition that I hadn't worn in years, good find! :)

ReplyDeleteOH girl this makes me laugh! I don't know how tall you are, I am relatively short. Anywho, I was in White House Black Market today and the sales lady kept wanting me try on a pair of skinny jeans with this top. I had to tell her like 15 times NO!!! I have short legs and I just didn't think they would like right, plus Mollie Kate was crying and I wanted to leave, they look good on you!! Ok sorry for my ramblings!!

ReplyDeleteThis is so cute!! I thought I couldn't wear skinny jeans too, bc I have an (ahem) womanly hourglass figure, you would call it. But I tried some on in a store, and love them!! And now I can actually tuck jeans into boots like everyone else! :)
