Run Day BeatTheBridge

Our NW Crossfit team getting ready for the race -
Great friends and people I spend a lot of my spare time with!!

A fun little warm-up

The girls (I can thank them for getting me to sign up)
Lindsay, Leslie, and Laura

What a nice hubby I have to come support me
and document my exciting day bright and early!

Putting our electronic readers on our shoes
to get an accurate race time - Isn't technology impressive?

Last group photo - - Getting nervous for 5 MILES, ha!

Among the gazillion of runners, I am shocked that Gabe was able to find me out of the crowd and catch me coming down the stretch of the UW Husky Stadium  I love it!  I really wish I would have gone in the second wave instead of the third, the last one, because it was insane the amount of people we had weave through.  That comes with any race though and the runners probably thought the same thing who passed me!

I don't ever recall running in an organized run longer than a 5k, but after this ... I am ready to sign up for my more!  It was the perfect distance, the weather was great, and I was impressed with myself being able to keep a good pace (for not training!!).

After I crossed the University Bridge at the 2 mile mark, it took me 23 minutes to finish the last 3 miles which was about a 7:30 min mile.  The race was easy once I made it through the crowds and crowds of runners, but 41:20 time isn't too shabby.

Good times had by ALL

Thanks to all the music suggestions.  My trusty iPod was a huge success with upbeat songs to keep me kickin'

*I haven't posted videos of myself on my blog before, and I really debated with the ones above.  But, I figure why not!

I have a 10 race next month! I have not ran an organized race in 6 years!
I asked my TRX instructor about Crossfit yesterday. She wants to get it up to our area ...but it may take a while! I referenced what you and Jenny say about it! :)
