Lots of reading to do

After a busy last couple of days, Hubby and I are spending our evening relaxing and reading about our new Kindle!!!

I just got her all registered, and when I turn it on it says "Kelsey's Kindle!"  Gabe better keep his filthy paws off it, jk!  I have only gotten as far as reading the manual on the device, and the technology seems super fancy and easy to navigate.  Who would have thought electronic paper would have caught on like it did.  Who needs to go out on a Saturday night when you have a new toy to play with and good company

I can't wait to order my first book!!!

Do you have a Kindle
and/or know any tricks for free books?!?

  1. I just sold my Kindle for the ipad! But I did really enjoy it. I say to make sure and order one of those fancy leather binders for it and the book light from M-edge.
Free Book this week in the Kindle store is "Living Organized".
You will really enjoy the ease of ordering a book instantly instead of driving somewhere to get it!
Also if you have an iphone there is a kindle app that syncs with kindle to always keep your bookmarks.
Dont forget to join goodreads.com if you havent already!

  2. My husband got me my Kindle for Christmas, and I love it! I read all the time, so it's nice to not weigh my purse down with books! I always check out the Kindle's best seller books because it will sometimes have free books on there. I think it also features a free book each month. My husband had to set me on a limit though each month because it is cheaper than buying a new book (most times) but not when you buy 4 or 5!

    Hope you enjoy it!

  10. How fun! :) I've been toying with the idea of getting a Kindle for a little while now! I uploaded Mobipocket Reader onto my BlackBerry, and have been using that, but I'm thinking a Kindle would blow it out of the water... You should definitely do a review post!

P.s. I love that American Girl is your ringtone for Gabe--- so cute! Made me smile, too!! :)
Have a wonderful Sunday enjoying Gabe and your new little friend!!

I live in Skagit County on Fidalgo Island (Tulip's are all gone now) and found you via Blooming in Bainbridge's blog.

  20. I have one and I LOVE it! A lot of free books are featured on the Kindle homepage, and a lot of the classics are free or really cheap.

I just finished "I Loved, I Lost, I Made Spaghetti" and really enjoyed it--it's the typical single-girl-can't-find-love memoir, but sprinkled with her forays in the kitchen. Best part, it includes recipes! I was pretty hungry after finishing that book.

There's a Kindle app for the BlackBerry too--you must download it!

If you need other book recommendations, let me know. I've been sick over the past few days and I've been clicking away on my Kindle a LOT.

  21. Thank you for the comment on my blog! I love the fact that you can sample a book before you buy it, it really helps with the "why did I buy this?" scenario!

  28. I got a Kindel for my birthday and LOVE it! I found a ton of free books an Amazon , most of them are classics (Pride & Prejudice, Sherlock Holmes, etc) but who doesn't love them? Plus, getting books on your Kindle is so much faster and cheaper than going to a store!
