First off, I hate pantyhose.
They are a pain and definite inconvenience during the day.
I stay clear of all my favorite skirt suits and dresses in the winter because my little chubby legs would freeze!! After seeing my cute friend, Kate (who can pull off all sorts of new trends) .... wearing fun teal tights as well as purple ones under her skirts for work, I figured I might have to try it out.
Mollie and I made a stop at Nordstrom Rack before cleaning out her closet last night, and I am excited to say I purchased my first pair of tights. I started with black, boring I know ... but it's a start. I am thinking that once I can find things to wear them with, I will then expand my horizons and venture out to the gray and different subtle patterns!

Well, that's everything I want in a pair of tights, so which me luck on my new wardrobe addition :) I am hoping I love their durability and thicker material that won't run like hose. Do you have a pair like this you love?

ReplyDeleteI LOVE tights! I have a lot of neutral colors! I too am scared to venture out with bright colors but I adore them on people when I see them!
ReplyDeleteI hate hose too, in fact I threw all mine away!! I do have a black pair of tights though and love them. I am not ready for the bright colors yet either...maybe one day!

ReplyDeleteI hate pantyhose too! I wore some on Friday that were too small...they must have shrunk...surely I couldn't have gained weight..ack....so they kept trying to slide off all day. Yuck.

ReplyDeleteI wear black tights too, but I just grab some cheapies from wherever. I hope you like them. As it gets a little warmer, and it's not FREEZING,they'll be a nice asset to your wardrobe. I can't even wear dresses in the dead of winter

ReplyDeleteI used to feel the same way as you about tights, but once I purchased some this year for a christmas party I realized they are great when it's cold out. My fiance doesn't like them so much, he prefers me bare legged lol but I don't mind them in the winter. I also only have black :)

Btw, just the word "pantyhose" cracks me up, I'm not sure if anyone even wears those anymore besides my Mom!

ReplyDeleteYou're right, pantyhose are annoying. I don't know if I'd be adventurous enough to do colorful tights. I would start with the black just like you lol. Hope they work out for you and you're daring enough to try the colorful ones ;-)
ReplyDeleteI hate pantyhose. It never fails that whenever I put them on, they get a run within 15 minutes! Hose last at least a little longer :-) I actually just bought my first pair in years a few weeks ago, and I love them!
ReplyDeleteWe are currently living in Japan and colorful tights are a big thing over here! Like you though I am not a fan of them, so maybe I need to adventure out and get a pair as well.

ReplyDeleteHaven't ventured to tightland yet, but that is mostly because I don't wear skirts. Ever. Until now, because I have a meeting once a month that I now have to attend WEARING A SKIRT. Tights, here I come!
ReplyDeleteYou are going to LOVE your new tights! I, too, would never wear skirts or dresses in the winter to work because I HATED hose blah! But now I have so many more outfit options since introducing tights into my wardrobe! I have a pair of black and gray argyle tights that I love!
ReplyDeleteI definitely do the whole tights under my work clothes thing. It really expands my winter wardrobe (and makes me look thinner-which is always a plus). & I also started with black but have moved to more vibrant colors. Keep us posted :)
ReplyDeleteI have a drawer full of super cute tights... but I just can't make myself put them on. The whole elastic pinching my waist and pushing my muffin top out over the top makes me cringe... but they look cute in the drawer!!
ReplyDeleteI hate pantyhose too. I don't think I have put on a pair in years.. I do however wear tights in the winter. They don't feel as tight and they don't itch my legs.

yay fun!! i heart tights. howev- my hub is NOT a fan...so i really dont wear them much. sad...but i do have some magenta ones that ROCK. and you know black goes with everything so ...good call for your first pair ha.

ReplyDeleteOh, you don't know what you've been missing! I wouldn't have nearly all the options for work clothing if it weren't for tights/leggings. I usually wear black to work, but my favorite pair of tights are Anthropologie flower patterned tights--they might sound granny, but are definitely not!
