I had this perfect corner room on the top floor at The Westin Gaslamp, in a fun city by myself, and with tons of free time once I work my daily conference shift .... and thought, why not invite my lovely mom to come hang out with me! So, the day I arrived, I called Momma, and encouraged her to take advantage of being able to fly by the seat of her pants and catch the next flight to San Diego (she is a flight attendant which has a gazillion advantages like this)!
She is in San Diego often for overnights and was my little tour guide for the few days we were there. We went to the MOST FABULOUS pizza place, Filippi's, which is in Little Italy, and a definition of a whole.in.the.wall. You enter through a tiny grocery store, and if you look at this first picture you will see the lineup of twenty people at 6pm!!
Fun decoration of chianti wine bottles .....
and my bottle traveled all the way from Cali to TX and home to Seattle!
On our walk home, I just had to get my picture taken with these fun scarecrows!
(once we got to the hotel, Mom checked her pedometer and walked over 8 miles that day!)
I saw this sculpture multiple times in SD
The USS Midway at the port
Bob Hope's Memorial Park
We ate at The Oceanaire the last night, and we loved the fishes that were all over the restaurant.
This was Mom's favorite fish ...
and this was mine .... :)
Thanks Momma for keeping me company, such a memorable trip together!!

Does it get any better than a getaway with your Mom? Sounds so fun!
