Crossfit WOD

Ohhh boy.  I have taken a couple days off from Crossfit, but will be whipping myself back into the swing of things with this WOD (workout of the day).  That is the great thing about Crossfit, each days workout is different and vary anywhere from a 10 to 45 minutes, but most often take approximately 20-30 minutes.

Here is the posting of today's WOD, which most of you could partake in wherever you live/workout.  I workout at a Crossfit facility - Northwest Crossfit - so I can utilize all of their equipment, but a lot of people just log on to forums to see the WOD and do it in their own backyard.

"It's Monday! And time to bring back an old favorite…. I remember this WOD had a lot of people talking, and a lot more taking a few days off afterwards…

“Chelsea”
5 Pullups
10 Pushups
15 Squats
Every minute on the minute for 30 minutes

Yes indeed! Good old Chelsea. Perform the above repetitions at the start of every minute. If you finish in 30 seconds, that means you get 30 seconds to rest. If you can't complete all of the reps within the minute, take the next minute off and start up again the minute after that.

It's an old fashioned bodyweight beatdown!"

  2. Ooh! That looks like a great 30 minute workout! I do a lot of cardio, but not a lot of muscle workouts (I need to be better). Looks like a good one that you could do in the living room while watching tv! :-)

  4. I think you'd be surprised at how CARDIO this really is.. at least I know my HR gets WAY up there at about min 12 or so:) today it'll prbly be min 2 haha.

Actually I bet alot of the reason CF is so good for the body (weight loss, toning, etc.) is cause most workouts are right in that zone of high intensity but some combo of cardio & muscle - that's my guess anyway..

    Regardless, I am scared! ha

  6. Crossfit! I had to pop over when I saw the Crossfit word!
Love the workout of the day idea...don't know what the heck I would "pull up" on in my home gym! I could handle the sit ups and squats...how much weight on the squats...any?
You'll be delighted to know I contacted the North Kitsap Crossfit team...going to schedule an appt. for Greg and I next week. What am I getting us into?
    Thanks for the inspiration Kelsey!

  12. I had never heard of crossfit until I read about it on your blog. I looked it up and the closest facility is 40 minutes from me.. Do you think it would be really hard to do from home? I'm not a member of a gym either, so it would be strictly backyard business :)
