Top Baby Names: *Not Preggers

Spearmint Baby is doing a blog hop that I just had to participate in.
I am not preggers, but love playing around with my kiddos future names!

When Gabriel and I were dating, I remember vividly eating dinner at BJ's in Dallas, and writing our baby names out on a napkin.  It was such a fun night, and we luckily/oddly agree on all of our names (except a new ONE I recently added to the list)!  I kept the napkin forever, and then lost it in the move :(

We still have our favorite first and middle names picked out, but I am convinced that I am not going to share the name until the punkin in born .... who knows though!

Favorite Girl Names
1.  Brooklynn
2.  Sada
3.  Tatum

Favorite Boy Names
1.  Prescott
2.  Jameson
3.  Graham

Picking a name is so hard especially when SOOO many people have input about it.

Plus, what do you put with a Smith!!  It has to be pretty unique, I think!

What are your favorite names?

  4. Beautiful names! Our neighbor has a little girl named Brooklynn and she is absolutely precious. I love the name Jillian, however, that is probably what we are naming our daughter in 15 weeks :) Cute post!

  9. I can't wait to see what people say on here! You have picked out some great names. I always have trouble picking out boy names, but I have an endless supply of girl names. I am on a 2 name kick right now like Emma Kate.

  10. I love all the names you have listed!

I think it's better to keep the names you and your hubby have chosen a secret until the baby is born. Then no one has a say in it, except you guys!!!

  11. I absolutely love thinking about and talking about baby names! However, my hubby and I don't agree on any of them! Haha! We do agree that we are going to wait to tell everyone and even decide on a name until the baby is born. Some of my favs are:
    GIRL: Harper, Amelia
    BOY: Morgan

  15. So cute -
Mr. Potts and I aren't having children but if we were they would be:
    Girl: Katherine Ann
Boy: Preston Michael or Preston Jacob

I lean away from Preston Michael because then his initials would be PMP & knowing Mr. Potts he'd call him PIMP. *sigh* boys

  16. I have my names but they are super secretive until I have a kid.

But man, naming a baby is soo complicated. You have to think of things the initials might spell or ways they could be made fun of. Too much pressure.

  17. Love Brooklyn...was my sister's name. :)
I am IN LOVE with the name Mason, but my boyfriend really dislikes it.

  18. Such fun little names! How great you guys agree. Bret and I agree on ONE name. Count them, ONE.

So, that being said, we are having a BOY and his name will be JUDE. Which I LOVE!

If we have a girl, I am naming her Olivia and B can just deal. I pushed her through my Britney for the love.

  19. precious names! and I was secretly hoping this meant you were preggers :) I'm obviously biased to the name Lofton Rains for a little boy right now--and we were going to name a little girl Layla Reese. and I just realized that both of those initials would have been the same--weird.

  20. I like classic last names as first names. like, dawson or ...well right now i cant think of another example. haha

my name is vonda and i HATED it with a passion when i was growing up. now, i am thankful that im not another ashley, jessica, or ann. (no offense if you are). people typically remember my name after meeting me because i usually have to say it at least two times! haha

i totally agree with sarah, naming a baby is soo complicated. You have to think of things the initials might spell or ways they could be made fun of. Too much pressure. (my initials are VAD..um hello VD. pretty sure my parents didnt think about that when they were picking out names.)

  21. Graham is one of my all time favs for a boy! So when you are prego with a boy...name him that! He'll be a stud for sure :)

  22. Husby and I keep our favorite names under lock and key. We shared our favorite girl name once and friends of ours used it to name their baby. First and middle! We were shocked and flattered at the same time.

  23. Too cute!

For a girl I like Ava! And for a boy I like Hudson!

  30. i'm scared to say my baby names! someone will steal them!

    ReplyDelete
  31. LOVE all of your name choices... Tatum is so sweet. And I think Tate would make a cute nickname for a little girl. All of the names I like are completely off in left field...

  32. I so understand your angst about naming a child with the last name "Smith". That is why you are married to a Gabe instead of some simple name.

We did not tell ANYONE Gabe's name until after he was born. People are not good at hiding their reactions to names and many will steal them so I kept it under wraps.

All of the names you mentioned are really cute.
