Gabe and I like to this of this as our first real road-trip together while living in Seattle. We take 3-4 hour trips here and there ... to the OR coast, the WA peninsula, up to Whistler, etc .... but this was our first BIG trip traveling to SunValley, Idaho. We chose to road-trip it so we could take the pups, and I am SO glad we did as it was the perfect get-a-way. The 10 hour trip was easy breezy (Gabe drove 90% of the way), and my trusty Subaru Outback was a champ along the way.

Sun Valley has been on my list of places to go as it is a very common place for Seattleites to have a vacation home, suppose to have great skiing, and a fun village with shops and restaurants. It was SUCH a beautiful place and reminded me a lot of Snowmass in Aspen. I already want to go back :)

When I asked my girlfriend what to pack ...

3. I told her I couldn't find her by searching her name on Pinterest

4. She sent me a link that went straight to her board

So I am only a month late at posting this ... BUT

Christmas in Dallas was particularly special this year because we got to

meet our two week old nephew, Stockton Mark-Thomas.

My mother in law went above and beyond playing "Santa" making this memorable for us all. Then, Gabe's aunt surprised everyone with a fun gift ... shirts with our names on the back and from saying "Team Stockton."

This is the first grandbaby on this side of the family,

and there are no words to describe their excitement!!

The kids gift to the adults was a day at TopGolf - which was great!

Easy Snail Mail

I loveeeeeee snail mail. Period.

Getting a piece of mail that is not a bill is one of the simplest ways to put a smile on my face. There are a few people in my life that send me letters on a regular basis, and I think it is such a cheerful way to tell someone you are thinking about this. Plus, I personally feel it is a nice personal touch that's a step above sending an email or electronic e-card.

And, I think the next best thing to a handwritten card, is a personalized card through picked over the internet that is then delivered as snail mail.

Greeting Card Universe was super easy to search for the appropriate card card based on the occasion, most popular, etc. I just sent a few thank you cards out and was pleased with out great the service was. One card ended up taking a full week to get to it's destination while others only took 3days, but maybe that was just a hick-up with the mail delivery.

I just love this ability from my office to customize a greeting card!

Vinegar is for everything

We moved into our new house November 15th, and so far I am pretty proud as I've been doing my best to keep our place as clean as possible. And, I haven't even gotten to show you the before, during, and after as we are still in a construction zone after our flood. In another few weeks ... JUST WAIT as I've been dying to share everything that's going on. What a mess.

I have agreed to get a house-cleaner when I feel like I can't stay on top of it, but for now the biggest annoyance is the brand new carpet and wool rug ... shedding. Which then requires me to clean out my vacuum cleaner after each use, when will it end?! Then, our backyard is filled with pine needles, and the pups bring it in the doggy door onto our hard woods like it's no one's business. Oh the joys :)

Until then ... I just picked up white vinegar at the store,

and check out the list of things I can do with this stuff - LOL

White distilled vinegar is a popular household cleanser, effective for killing most mold, bacteria, and germs, due to its level of acidity. Cleaning with white distilled vinegar is a smart way to avoid using harsh chemicals. You’ll also be glad to know that it is environmentally friendly and very economical.

To shine chrome sink fixtures that have a lime buildup, use a paste made of 2 tablespoons salt and 1 teaspoon white distilled vinegar.

Make your own scouring cleanser by combining 1/4 cup baking soda with 1 tablespoon liquid detergent. Add just enough white distilled vinegar to give it a thick but creamy texture.

Clean counter tops and make them smell sweet again with a cloth soaked in undiluted white distilled vinegar.

Clean and deodorize a drain by pouring in 1 cup baking soda, then one cup hot white distilled vinegar. Let this sit for 5 minutes or so, then run hot water down the drain.

Deodorize the garbage disposal by pouring in 1/2 cup baking soda and 1/2 cup hot white distilled vinegar. Let sit for 5 minutes then run hot water down the disposal.

Deodorize and clean the garbage disposal with white distilled vinegar ice cubes. Make them by freezing full-strength white distilled vinegar in an ice cube tray. Run several cubes down the disposal while flushing with cold water.

Clean the microwave by mixing 1/2 cup white distilled vinegar and 1/2 cup water in a microwave-safe bowl. Bring it to a rolling boil inside the microwave. Baked-on food will be loosened, and odors will disappear. Wipe clean.

Clean the shelves and walls of the refrigerator with a half-and-half solution of water and white distilled vinegar.

Cut the grime on the top of the refrigerator with a paper towel or cloth and full-strength white distilled vinegar.

Avoid the bad smell when you heat up a newly cleaned oven by using a sponge soaked in diluted white distilled vinegar for the final rinse.

To clean a grease splattered oven door window, saturate it with full-strength white distilled vinegar. Keep the door open for 10 to 15 minutes before wiping with a sponge.

Remove soap buildup and odors from the dishwasher by pouring a cup of white distilled vinegar inside the empty machine and running it through a whole cycle. Do monthly.

To prevent good glassware from getting etched by minerals, wash then spray with full-strength white distilled vinegar. Give the glasses a hot water rinse before letting them dry or drying them with a towel.

For cloudy glassware, soak paper towels or a cloth in full-strength white distilled vinegar and wrap around the inside and outside of the glass. Let sit awhile before rinsing clean.

Get rid of lime deposits in a tea kettle by adding 1/2 cup white distilled vinegar to the water and letting it sit overnight. If more drastic action is needed, boil full-strength white distilled vinegar in the kettle a few minutes, let cool and rinse with plain water.

Remove mineral deposits from coffee makers with white distilled vinegar. Fill the water reservoir with 1 cup or more of white distilled vinegar and run it through a whole cycle. Run it once or twice more with plain water to rinse clean. (Check the owners’ manual first.)

Remove stains from coffee and teacups by scrubbing them gently with equal parts of salt (or baking soda) and white distilled vinegar. Rinse clean.

For stained and smelly plastic food containers, wipe them with a cloth dampened with white distilled vinegar.

Remove odors from a lunch box by placing inside a slice of bread that has been soaked in white distilled vinegar. Leave overnight.

Remove ugly film in narrow-necked glass jars, flower vases, and bottles by letting undiluted white distilled vinegar sit in them for a few hours. Add a little rice or sand and shake vigorously to loosen stubborn stains. Repeat if necessary.

Easily clean your mini blinds by wearing pair of white cotton gloves. Dip gloved fingers into a solution of equal parts white vinegar and warm tap water, and run your fingers across both sides of each blind.

To clean tarnished brass, copper, and pewter, use a paste with equal amounts of white distilled vinegar and table salt.

Make a metal cleanser by adding enough white distilled vinegar to 2 tablespoons of cream of tartar to make a paste. Rub it on and let it dry on the surface. Wash it off and dry with a soft cloth.

Polish brass and copper with a mixture of 2 tablespoons of ketchup and 1 tablespoon white distilled vinegar. Rub it on with a clean cloth until dry and shiny.

Remove dark stains on an aluminum pot by boiling a mixture of 1 cup white distilled vinegar and 1 cup hot water.

Discourage ants by spraying undiluted white distilled vinegar outside doorways and windowsills, around appliances and wherever you find the pests coming in.

Get rid of fruit flies by setting out a small dish of undiluted white distilled vinegar.

Clean the wheel of a can opener using white distilled vinegar and an old toothbrush.

Remove the smell of spoiled food from a refrigerator by first rinsing the area with soap and water. Spray surfaces with full-strength white distilled vinegar and wipe them down with a damp cloth or sponge. Fill some containers with baking soda and place inside. Close the door and leave for a few days.

Wipe grease off exhaust fan grids, the inside of your oven, or anywhere grease gathers with a sponge soaked in white distilled vinegar.

To make cleaning the grill easier, spray a solution of half water and half white distilled vinegar on the cooking surface.

To remove a label, decal, or price tag, cover with a cloth soaked in white distilled vinegar. Leave the cloth on overnight and the label should slide off.

Renew sponges and dishrags by placing them in just enough water to cover them. Then add 1/4 cup white distilled vinegar. Let them soak overnight.

Get rid of calcium deposits on faucets by soaking a cloth or paper towel in white distilled vinegar and wrapping the area tightly. Let this sit for a couple of hours or overnight.

Remove soap buildup from faucets by scrubbing them with a solution of 1 part salt to 4 parts white distilled vinegar.

Rid a faucet of lime deposits by tying a plastic bag containing 1/2 to 1/3 cup of white distilled vinegar around it and leaving it there for two or three hours. If mineral deposits don’t wipe off, scrubbing with an old toothbrush should complete the job.

Shine colored porcelain sinks by scouring them with undiluted white distilled vinegar.

Rinse away soapy film on countertops with a solution of white distilled vinegar and water.

Clean grout by letting full-strength white distilled vinegar sit on it for a few minutes and scrubbing it with an old toothbrush.

Kill germs all around the bathroom with a spray of full-strength white distilled vinegar. Wipe clean with a damp cloth.

To remove grime, mildew, and scum from the tub, tile, shower curtain or door, wipe with undiluted white distilled vinegar. Rinse with water.

Spray shower doors with full-strength white distilled vinegar after you’ve squeegeed the glass, or before you step in and turn on the water. It will help release the hard water deposits so they don’t remain on the glass.

Mix up an inexpensive tile cleaner by adding 1/2 cup baking soda, 1 cup white distilled vinegar, and 1 cup ammonia to a gallon of warm water.

Get rid of stubborn bathtub film by wiping it with white distilled vinegar and then scouring with baking soda.

Soak a sponge or loofah overnight in a strong white distilled vinegar and water solution to remove dirt and slime. Rinse several times with cold water and let air dry (in the sun if possible).

Clean shower door tracks by filling them with white distilled vinegar and letting it sit for a few hours. Pour hot water into the tracks and wash and scrub away the scum with a toothbrush.

To clean a scummy showerhead, pour 1/2 cup baking soda and 1 cup white distilled vinegar into a sandwich bag and tie it around the showerhead. Let this set for an hour after the bubbling has stopped. Remove the bag and then turn on the water.

Deodorize the toilet bowl by allowing 3 cups white distilled vinegar to sit in it for about a half hour before flushing.

To make the toilet bowl sparkle, pour in a cup or more of diluted white distilled vinegar and let it sit several hours or overnight. Scrub well with the toilet brush and flush.

Freshen air in the bathroom by spraying into the air a solution of 1 teaspoon baking soda, 1 tablespoon white distilled vinegar, and 1 cup water.

Get a shining finish on a no-wax vinyl or linoleum floor by cleaning it with a solution of one cup white distilled vinegar for every gallon of water.

Apply full-strength white distilled vinegar directly to tough linoleum stains. Leave it on for 10 to 15 minutes before wiping it up. If that doesn’t work, apply white distilled vinegar again and then sprinkle some baking soda over the white distilled vinegar. Scrub the area with a brush or sponge. Rinse clean with water.

For an economical and environmentally friendly floor cleaner, mix a solution of 3 drops dishwashing liquid to 1/3 part white distilled vinegar, 1/3 part alcohol, and 1/3 part water. Spray sparingly and mop for a fast clean-up.

Some carpet stains can be removed with a paste of 2 tablespoons white distilled vinegar and 1/4 cup salt or baking soda. Rub into the carpet stain and let dry. Vacuum up the residue the next day. (Always test on an out-of-sight part of the carpet first).

Bring out the color in carpet by brushing it with a solution of 1 cup white distilled vinegar for every gallon of water. (Always test on an out-of-sight part of the carpet beforehand).

To reduce soap bubbles in a steam cleaner add about 1/4 cup white distilled vinegar. Use the same amount in the rinse water to remove detergent residue and make carpets stay fresh longer.

Wash indoor/outdoor carpet with a solution of 1 cup white distilled vinegar in 1 bucket of warm water. Scrub using a brush or a broom and then hose off.

Clean up pet accidents by first blotting up the area and then adding a white distilled vinegar-and-water solution. Blot until it is almost dry. Then sprinkle baking soda over the area and let it dry. Vacuum up the residue the next day.

Create your own window cleaning solution by combining 1/2 cup non-sudsy ammonia, 1 cup white distilled vinegar, and 2 tablespoons cornstarch in a gallon of water.

Remove the wax residue left by commercial window cleaners with a solution of 2 cups water, 1 cup white distilled vinegar and 1 teaspoon of liquid soap or detergent.

To remove paint from windows try using undiluted, hot white distilled vinegar. Give the solution time to soften the paint before removing with a razor edge tool.

To remove paint splatters from windows apply full-strength white distilled vinegar with a clean paintbrush.

Get rid of mildew, dust, and stale odors by wiping down walls with undiluted white distilled vinegar on a cloth or a sponge mop.

Clean woodwork and walls with a mixture of 1 cup white distilled vinegar, 1 cup baking soda, 1/2 cup ammonia and 1 gallon warm water. Wipe on with a sponge or damp—not wet—towel.

Clean wood paneling with a solution of 1/4 cup olive oil, 1/2 cup white distilled vinegar, and 2 cups warm water. Wipe on with a soft cloth.

Remove wallpaper easily by using a paint roller to wet the surface very thoroughly with a solution of equal parts white distilled vinegar and hot water. Or spray on until saturated.

Get decals off walls or doors by letting undiluted white distilled vinegar soak into them for several minutes before trying to peel them off. Repeat if necessary.

Remove white water rings from wood with a solution of equal parts white distilled vinegar and vegetable oil. Rub with the grain.

Remove fireplace soot and grime with undiluted white distilled vinegar. Use a brush to scrub and a towel to blot up the wetness and dirt.

Clean fireplace glass doors with a solution of 1 part white distilled vinegar to 2 parts water. Spray or wipe on, then wipe clean with a dry cloth.

To kill germs, spray full-strength white distilled vinegar on doorknobs and then wipe them dry.

Remove the smell of a dead mouse or other rodent (after removing all animal remnants) by wiping down the area with either white distilled vinegar or bleach. Then place a fabric softener sheet in the area to remove any lingering odors.

Never use white distilled vinegar on marble. The acid can damage the surface.

Before painting old concrete, clean with full-strength white distilled vinegar. Let it air dry.

Clean hardened paint brushes by simmering them in a pot with white distilled vinegar. Soak them first for an hour before bringing the white distilled vinegar to a simmer. Drain and rinse clean.

Remove mud and stains from plastic, fiberglass, or aluminum sports equipment by applying a paste of 1 part white distilled vinegar to 3 parts baking soda. Wipe off with soapy water and rinse with clear water.

Clean your grill by spritzing white distilled vinegar over wadded up aluminum foil and scrubbing the grill vigorously with it.

To remove film in glass baby bottles, fill with equal parts hot water and white distilled vinegar. Let sit for at least an hour. Scrub with a bottle brush.

To clean and disinfect baby toys add a good-sized splash of white distilled vinegar to soapy water.

Clean vinyl baby books or board books by wiping with white distilled vinegar. Wipe clean with a damp sponge or cloth.

Clean scissors that have become sticky (after cutting tape, for instance) with a cloth dipped in undiluted white distilled vinegar.

Clean and deodorize urine on a mattress with a white distilled vinegar and water solution. Then sprinkle the area with baking soda and let dry. Brush or vacuum the residue after it is dry to the touch.

Shine pennies by soaking them for a couple of hours or overnight in a glass or bowl of undiluted white distilled vinegar.

Holidays with Lugar's

Our trip to Dallas was filled with yummy food, family, and loved ones. My trips home aren't complete without multiple trips to Taco Bueno, Chick-Fil-A, and now In N Out!!! Yes, I seriously gained 5 lbs this holiday from 10 days in Texas and a week in SunValley (more on that soon).

The first half was spent with my family and the other half with Gabe's

Seattle got DUMPED on .... and it's not stopping anytime soon.

Which turned into a legit snow day where I got to work from home. Thank goodness for my dear friend the Subaru Outback, as I can still get out and about when I have cabin fever for a quick errand or two. BUT, I would like to say all the crazies in the non-AWD or 4WD need to stay home. Like seriously, stay home. Gabe and I gave a poor lady a ride home who had to abandon her car and was planning to walk a little over 2 miles in the freezing temps and snow.

And I leave you with my darling snowy house and neighborhood!

Wish it would slow down

Hi sweet readers!! Gabe and I just got home from 10 days in Dallas, and we were able to spend such precious moments and time with both sides of our family and extended family. This is rare as we are all so spread out, but 24 of us came together traveling from TN, GA, OK, and the rest who reside in the Dallas Metroplex. AND, a newest Smith addition - Stockton - who just turned 2weeks old!

Hope everyone had the most wonderful holiday with family, friends, and ones to love on. It never ever gets old telling close ones you love them.

Gabe and I are off to visit a new place to ring in the New Year,

which is why this post is picture-less. Come back to see where we go :)

Practical or unpractical?

Whats YOUR favorite gift to give/receive during this season?!

I personally am one that LOVES to gift and receive something that is needed but also desired. Which most often means .... practical as I am a pretty realistic person. And, my most practical gift for Gabe and myself was a Lululemon shopping spree. Gabe just got hooked after wearing a pair of shorts during half of our vacation in Thailand (without access to a washer) as they don't hold the sweat odor. Yesss!!! I'm loving him on board, although my wallet isn't thanking me as it's never ending to just keep adding to our collection. Their stuff is seriously the best.

And, my newest find ... the hana straightener! I just got the hana Elite 1" ceramic straightener, which heats anywhere from 140-450 degrees! It's must more lightweight and smaller than my previous one. You better believe my CHI, which I have been loyally using since 2002 ... will now be shoved to the back of my drawer as I am loving this new straightener. Korea: Day 15

After flying through the night, we were super excited and anxious to explore as much as possible during our 18 hours in Korea. We looked like total tourists as we were not dressed appropriately as we still were living the "island life" and it was chilly weather and somewhat similar to Seattle this time of year. Except there was LOTS of sun :)

Next stop ... food! And we ended up at a packed local spot with locals for Korean BBQ. It was an experience of a lifetime, as we were clueless on how to order when no one spoke English. If only someone recorded us attempting to communicate .... hilarious!

We just loved it - Cool temps in the 50's and we were dressed for summer.

Then we headed to the Namdaemun Market ... which was one of the craziest and most wild experiences of my life. We heard it was an absolute MUST see if we were in the city, and let's just say I was overwhelmed instantly.

We are so glad we got to see the city and would love to come back when we have more time. We were surprisingly able to see a lot during our visit and would love to come back again as it was too quick.

After Korea ... we made it back HOME!!!

Thailand: Day 14

Our very last day was in Thailand was amazing. It was spent with such a special Australian couple, Megan and Andrew. We might of snagged spring rolls (once again) and enjoying every last bit of our trip.

Around 4pm we cleaned up, checked out, and headed to town for one last dinner before catching a red-eye flight to Korea. Sweet guys, saying goodbye to our friends at the BoPhut Resort and Spa!

Our Australian friends are in church ministry and have traveled the world.

What wonderful people serving God and loving people. After hours together, we learned of many countries to add to our bucket list and have friends to challenge us spiritually on the other side of the world.

The last two weeks were better than we ever dreamed of them being. Gabe and I created memories that will never be forgotten, and I hope the beauty of this country and love of the people was shown in my posts. It was such an incredible place with respectful and hard working people that made you just fall in love with their culture.

It was bittersweet leaving, but we are forever grateful for the opportunity we had to spend it in Thailand. Next action item, getting as much rest as possible on the plane for our nights sleep ... we were hoping to be well rested for ... a day in KOREA :)

Now let me put these next photo in perspective for you ...

Describing the heat is totally a task because it's impossible to put into words .... except for it was SO HOT!! But this picture should help paint the picture as I had been laying out like 20min and was dying. Re-hydrating with lots of water was a must as I was sweating everything out!!!

and Gabe and I were thinking the same thing of "it's so hot" as he says it seconds after I did! I just cannot imagine the heat in April, which is their most humid time of year.

And we cleaned up for a date night in Chewang, another part of the island where it was quite lively with lots of shopping, people watching, and dining!

That is ONE scooter with two adults and two kids - scariest sight EVER!!!

And we had to RUN for cover and grab dinner earlier than anticipated as it was pouring. Our first time to see rain all of the trip, and boy did it get us. And then it was ironic, as the only time it rained on us was when we were far from our hotel and out about exploring the streets of Chewang. It didn't stop us as we still were determined to get our last shopping in for the trip!

Speaking of rain in Thailand, I just wanted to send our thoughts to all of the families in Thailand that were affected by the floods. Just awful, and I'm thankful that we were able to get out prior to the devastation.

Thailand: Day 12

I woke up most mornings and would get some quiet time in prior to Gabe

joining me at the pool. I thought it was cute he documented the resort/me!

Ahhh the vacation life ... How could this ever get old.

AND, I had to document the spring roll gals that I mentioned in my last post. This was their "stand" on the sand, rain or shine ... they were there. It was the most fabulous spring roll I've ever eaten, and we supported them three days in a row for lunch as it was the perfect lunch snack after a big breakfast. I am a super picky eater and meats gross me out, so it really was the perfect fix for me. They also made a tasty salad with all fresh veggies and a spicy dressing. Delicious!!!

Then we worked it off with a long ride in the double kayak - although, I must say my husband didn't appreciate my kayaking skills. He said I made it more frustrating and requested I just sit there in the middle of sea and enjoy the sights. Haha, really Gabe!?!

The beginning of this makes me smile with us saying "hey" same pitch and all, and then I may make you sick trying to figure out how to kayak while videoing. I mastered it later, but this one ended up being my fav!

Then our afternoon daily massage: these Thai gals loved Gabe ;)

and we went back to our room TO FIND a package with our name on it. Our SUITS (yay yay) delivered as promised, such a relief. We will be using Thai Tailor for years to come as they really did an exceptional job and exceeded our expectations. Sure hope my weight doesn't fluctuate, ever, as they only have the current measurements on file.

Thailand: Day 11

We are a coffee, espresso, latte family. Seattle has definitely turned Gabe into a coffee guy, and I have grown up around it with it being a staple in my home growing up. Still to this day, my dad probably drinks 15+ cups a day. I kid you not, there is no exaggeration as it is probably more like 20 cups a day. The coffee pot is always going at the office, and he makes a full pot at night when he walks in the door from work at 7pm. He's an addict and will need it in dripped directly his veins one of these days :)

After breakfast, we headed out to Fisherman's Village,

which was a great shopping area just a 10-15 minute walk away.

We realized everything didn't open for a few more hours and the sun was out, so we headed back to the hotel and to head to the pool. Yes please!!

We saw people left and right there were just fried. Like lobster friend, and I didn't understand it. Until this day when I was just going to layout for an hour or so, and I might have put on a little oil as the hotel provided it so kindly. Which I regretted later after burning. UGH, and I did so good up until this point.

Then, after much debate and checking out many other hotels in the vicinity, we decided to pick up and check in to the hotel directly next door. It was actually the hotel I wanted to stay-in in the first place, but they were completely booked for the beginning of our Koh Samui trip. And Gabe totally agreed as the Anantara was stunning, but we kind of got swallowed up in the 5 star resort as it was so large. We happily packed up and walked our bags to the hotel next door.

This makes hotel #6 in 11 days :)

We fell in love just seconds after arriving and knew this was the place we would call home for the next 3 nights. The Bo Phut Resort & Spa was incredible, just exactly what we wanted and although it's hard to believe, it was more relaxing.

I took more naps sitting out here than I ever anticipated.

NOW, for one of my favorite things while we were in Samui and staying in BoPhut was the spring roll stand directly on the beach. The sweet ladies sat out there for 10 hours at a time, and this "street food" was my fav!

Then, we cleaned up and took a picture at our hotel before the humidity got to us, haha!

Thailand: Day 10

I know it's the worst way to start my day in regards to my metabolism, BUT I am not one who eats breakfast. Ever. My regular morning consists of me running out the door to work, and I'm lucky if I could brew coffee for the road. But, if it's available without me having to give up minutes of sleep, I will absolutely indulge. Like below :)

As much as I love technology ... it's times like this that make you realize how fantastic life can be without them as they are the biggest distraction. Just me, the hubs, and nowhere else I'd rather be.

Thailand: Day 9

Our last morning in Chiang Mai consisted of us being super-duper-excited to pick up our tailored suits just before catching a redtruck to the airport.

Quick overview to catch everyone up to speed ...

- on Friday night at 9pm, we spur of the moment popped into a store and pulled the trigger to get tailored suits. We picked out our material, chose our so-called preference style from a picture book, and the salesman took our measurements. Someone came to pick up the material and measurements while we were there and left to get to work :) We paid for half the total cost in Thai Bhat hoping their work was up to our standards and we would receive our suits before leaving town 36 hours later.

- on Saturday morning at 10am, we went for our first fitting and was pleased with fit and requested for some of the material to be let out so it wouldn't be SO fitted. Heck, I wanted to be able to sit down.

- on Saturday night at 9pm, we went for our final fitting. The suit was 90% completed (yes they did two beautiful suits and one of Gabe's shirts in 24 hours). They just needed to make final tweaks and press it for us to pick up Sunday morning.

- on Saturday night, we also decided heck these are amazzzzzing, we should order MORE! So, we picked out another suit material for our second suits, which is hysterical as we chose the same. I actually picked out the first one for Gabe and then went with the same when I decided to get a suit made. Then, I picked out the second material and Gabe went along with that one too. We are total TWINS, but will never wear them to the same place at the same time as we don't work together. So, we both win!!!

- on Sunday morning, we were completely satisfied with each suit and paid for the remainder of the first set as well as the second set of suits and four shirts for Gabe with his initials embroidered on the cuff. The salesman told me it would be best for him to keep the the suits to be able to make an identical copy ... which means I left with nothing. Period. No suits, no shirts, just a receipt and my information for him to mail them to our hotel in Koh Samui with our name on the box.

I must say, I was quite on the fence being in another country trusting one so, but he assured me that he "would be in trouble with the Gods if he took customers money without providing a final product." My lovely readers, you will have to wait and see if we received it across the country in the islands of Koh Samui!

From the northwest of Thailand, to the southern tip

Bangkok Airways is the only airline to fly into the small Koh Samui airport, which was a sleepy airport with I think four gates. I didn't realize this island was as small as it was until arriving and the fact that taxis weren't available and only prearranged shuttles.

We chose to stay in BoPhut at the Five Star Anantara Hotel as it was just a redtruck away from the shopping in Chewang and nightlife, which was ideal to us. We saw a lot of relaxation on the horizon.

Thailand: Day 8

At this point, we couldn't believe we are halfway through our vacation and still have so much time remaining to soak up all of Thailand. After us having such a busy day prior in Chiang Mai, we wanted to plan day 8 as we the day went. It started with a yummy breakfast spot with fantastic coffee.

It still makes me laugh that the menu

we ordered from most every day was from a picture.

I don't talk about my career much on my blog for one reason or another, but being that I am a pharmaceutical representative ... I always take a picture by a pharmacy or anything drug related out of the states. Most often they are advertising one of the drugs I sell, but in this case the broken English made me smile!

At 10am, we went back for our first fitting at the tailor, and I was so pleased to see the style and fit to be similar to what I pointed out from the book. Such an experience seeing it all come together, and can you believe they had this much of the suit made in just TWELVE hours?!?! Someone was busy working through the night to make two suits in the short window. We were super pleased so far, and I just had to request a little material to be let out in the thighs as they didn't have much give for sitting. I would of had an interesting time getting in and out of my car 15x a day, but luckily those changes could be made based on how far they had progressed.

I had Googled crossfit in Thailand prior to leaving on our trip and had read that there was ONE box in all of Thailand, which happened to be in Chiang Mai. Gabe and I were determined to pay them a visit, and it was like a scavenger hunt to find tucked away off the highway. I almost gave up at one point as our English map wasn't very helpful to our Thai speaking driver. 45 minutes later ... WE MADE IT!

We had never worked out in a hotter environment, it was something else

but just loved the open feel with bamboo "walls" so to speak.

Our most favorite memory was learning about THE "prowler." Who knew after 2 and a half years of crossfitting, that I would have to travel to Thailand to learn about this piece of equipment.

It drained every bit of me to have this part of the WOD!

Thailand: Day 7 Continued

I'm almost done with obsessing over my elephant adventures,
but I just had to post a few of my favorite clips from the day
before moving on to the rest of the trip :)

This was our first real interaction with our elephant for the day, and I was pretty scared with her pushy trunk all up in my space as she was sooo hungry, oopsies I only got half of the bananas/bamboo in her mouth!

AND, I laugh every.single.time I watch this clip as there is a huge difference in my "cleaning" and Gabe's. He's a fierce swatter with that branch - LOL!!!

That night we were absolutely pooped, and we all we wanted was the street food from the same place we ate the night before. When in doubt, go with what you LOVE! And we just loved this Thai food.

Hubs and I both wear full suits on a daily basis, and we had heard many suggestions from friends who visited Thailand that we had to take advantage of getting a tailored suit while we were there as it was a steal of a deal. Before heading home that night ..... as it was like 10pm, we decided to pop our head into a tailor shop. They had beautiful material, looked legit from what we saw, and the gentlemen was willing to do anything to get our business. The crazier part was the fact that he said he could have a suit for both of us completed well within the 36 hours we had before catching a flight to the islands. It seemed too good to be true, but hey why not we're on vacation ;)

Little did we know this was only the beginning of a long relationship!!

Thailand: Day 7

A few weeks prior to us departing for Thailand, my parents called late one evening to let me know they just watched Samantha Brown travels to Thailand. My sweet parents knew that riding an elephant was very top of my list, and they told me to TiVo her show as they traveled to Pantara Elephant Farm. A fellow blogger who lives in Thailand also highly recommended this particular place as they treated their elephants kindly, so with these two suggestions and it being the #1 activity on TripAdvisor ... I booked it immediately.

After lots of research, Pantara's "Trainer for the Day" seemed to be the best overall experience. It was worth every single penny and some as it was one of the most memorable days of my life. Next to my wedding day and future day when I give birth to a little bambino of my own! I am SO glad we saved an entire day to experience Thailand in this form. It was spectacular, and they really are brilliant creatures.

"Elephant Trainer for the Day" duties:

Meeting Be-Joon, the 10yr old female elephant that would be MINE for the day :) The owner said she would be the perfect fit with me as I was young/athletic and could "handle" her. She was a pushy little booger and kept sticking her trunk IN my bucket as I wasn't feeding her fast enough.

We learned you can determine how healthy an elephant is by if they have an appetite, if their feet are sweating, their side is dirty from laying down, their ears are flapping, and by the fibers in the poop.

And we had to smell it to find this out, 'hey a trainer would do it so we did it!'

Thailand: Day 6

*I apologize for my absence as we moved and had a HUGE flood, argggg more on that later. BACK to Thailand, as I'm determined to finish this out :)

Day 6 started out with another delicious breakfast at Baan U Sabai, and you can see the "Traditional Thai Breakfast" photographed below. It consisted of pork, white rice, and cucumbers. Plus, it came with green chilies, which we loved and added a great additional kick in flavor. It reminded me more of a lunch meal, so it was a little unusual for me ... but we wanted to eat the way the Thai do.

We stayed in the top rooms with a balcony overlooking the pool,

but I thought the rooms that opened up tot he pool were quite unique.

I think he was on his 2nd or 3rd espresso - we are coffee/caffeine junkies!

Then, we checked out and moved AGAIN to Saithong Guest House. I loved this place as it was so reasonably priced, directly in the middle of all the action of Old City where we could walk everywhere. It had such a cool field and was seriously like a tree-house.

Then, we were off to explore ...

Thailand: Day 5

Our first full day in Chiang Mai ... We learned yummy breakfast was the perfect start to vacation in general. It happens to be Gabe's absolute favorite meal of the day, and neither of us actually have breakfast during the week at home. We know we should, but often a cup of coffee or two does the trick for us.

AND, we took another recommendation from TripAdvisor (shocking, ha!) to do one of the most popular activities, Thai cooking class. We chose the Siam Rice Thai Cookery School as it was the #1 rated cooking school and #3 of #171 activities in Chiang Mai. We couldn't have been more thrilled with our choice.

This was something I was pushing and Gabe agreed to do for me ... and he ended up enjoying it just as much, YAY! It really was SUCH a highlight.

I would have never imagined cooking a Thai meal completely on our own just with verbal direction from the owner himself. For each meal, we had four choices to pick from, and Gabe and I went with different ones so we could try a variety of menu items. We had read to come hungry!!

I have a new appreciation for curry paste as it was seriously the hardest thing ever to make. It is normally made fresh daily at Thai restaurants and my goodness using the pestle and mortar almost wiped me out. I still couldn't get it fine enough to Thai standards (oopsies), so Siam had to help me a little as his hands could just go go go!

Thailand: Day 4

The streets of Bangkok are W-I-L-D. Best way to describe it with scooters zooming in every direction, and really fast. I was able to snap this picture of a gal, like most, who sit on the scooter sideways while in a skirt. They hire the scooters for transportation to their job, and you couldn't pay me to do the same. Families of three would be on them with infants in their lap, etc and

I can see why after seeing it first-hand.

Breakfast at Baan Bar

This was a VERY eye opening breakfast as it was our first sit down experience. I learned four important things that ended up being true throughout the rest of our trip. First, the coffee is extremely strong and serve pretty much straight espresso, love it. Secondly, orange marmalade is the greatest thing on earth (never heard of it before Thailand). Third, orange juice there is incredible. Totally different than in the states: very pulpy, super sweet, and a much more orange color. Fourth, their egg yolks are weird and didn't taste right, ha! So, I had to start eating my eggs scrambled as it messed with my head.

coffee, OJ, 2eggs, ham, sausage, bacon, beans, AND toast!!

After filling our bellies, we hopped on the train to the Bangkok airport to fly to the northern part of Thailand, Chiang Mai, for the next five or so days.

After arriving in Chiang Mai, we noticed the temperatures were slightly cooler around 85 degrees, and still very humid. We thought areas of Bangkok were green, but it couldn't even compete with Chiang Mai as everything was green. I chose a brand new hotel Baan U Sabai Boutique House, which was outside the mote and Old City walls. Then, we would move (again!!) and stay at more of a "guest house" the remainder of the time so we could experience all of Chiang Mai. It was extremely tough when planning, and I thought this would give us best of both worlds.

We were picked up from the airport in a classic 1980 Mercedes :)

This place was a boutique hotel that felt more like a high end bed and breakfast as it was run by one family and offered 14 guestrooms. The teak wood and craftsmanship was just magnificent, and I could feel the love they put into the place.

Walking around Chiang Mai, first stop ... feed Gabe. He picked fried squid. I tasted it and seriously spit it out as the smell and taste was completely overwhelming and not like any calamari in the states. He laughed at me and thought I was overreacting. This reinforced my pickiness.

Next stop 7-Eleven as they are EVERYWHERE! Huge 60oz waters were 33cents :) And we thought their hours of selling alcohol were odd as it could only be purchased from 11am-2pm and 5pm-midnight.

We found this placed based on TripAdvisor reviews. It was one of my favorite meals the entire trip as everything was super flavorful, extremely fresh, and the mixed combination of textures left you always wanting more. Definite highlight as everything was organic and had no msg. The restaurant decor was super plain, but they knew how to do food presentation, it was beautiful!

What made it stand out were all of the little interesting surprises like raisins, peanuts, crunchy dried peas, all begging you to try another bite.

We ended our night with the most superb massage thanks to the excellent recommendation from our hotel to visit the Thai Massage School just blocks away. It was my very first Thai massage, and holy cow it was painful. For a whopping $11.25 each for TWO HOURS!!!!!!! ... almost every single muscle in our body was massaged. There were moments that is was soothing and relaxing, others that were oddly even exhausting as they really knew how to give a massage and release tension in the muscles. I would have paid $200 for it - One of my favorite memories and days of the trip, and I truly hope my guy graduates and gets hired at the most wonderful spa as he deserves it.

Thailand: Day 3 GrandPalace

The Grand Palace was one of the most exquisite things I've ever seen! It has an area of 218,400 sq. meters and is surrounded by walls built in 1782. The length of the four walls is 1,900 meters.

First off, it was incredibly difficult just to be able to enter The Grand Palace based on the large walls pictured below. We kept walking to what we thought was an entrance, like the tall white gate to the left, and it would be security guards directing us around the block and some to the real entrance. Quite tricky.

I have gotten many questions about the costs to travel through Thailand, and it was only 400bh ($13 USD) per person to get a day pass, which was extremely worth it. We chose to go without a tour guide as they tend to me locals trying to earn wages from tourists. Then I happily rented a skirt for 200bh ($6.50 USD) at the entrance like most others as the clothing did not fit the standards. Before leaving, money was refundable for returned items rented.

*There is a strict dress code for visiting the Grand Palace. The Temple of the Emerald Buddha is Thailand's most sacred site. Visitors must be properly dressed before being allowed entry to the temple. Men must wear long pants and shirts with sleeves -- no tank tops. Women must be similarly modestly dressed. No see-through clothes, bare shoulders, etc. If you show up at the front gate improperly dressed, there is a booth near the entry that can provide clothes to cover you up properly.

We were able to enter most all of the temples, but sadly photos inside were forbidden. I wish there was a way to remember the details as the gold, jade, and detail was beyond describable. We could have spent 4 hours walking around The Grand Palace as it really included so much, but we were able to see a all that we wanted in the 2+hrs we were there. Then, we had to soak in as much as possible in reasonable window to move on and see the other sites :) or eat more food for Gabe!

Thailand: Day 3

Gabe and I couldn't wait to explore the city of Bangkok, so we set an early morning wake-up call at 6am and learned quite quickly what Thailand humidity was like. Cool and collected and then within seconds of being outside ... hot, very hot. Words can't describe how sticky it felt at a whopping 85 degrees.

Speaking of temperature, I took my first shower with an electric shower (pictured below). I had read many reviews of travels saying they were disappointed in the hotels water temperature, so I just thought it was expected for the shower to be cooler than the one I am use to ... BUT, I didn't read the machine to notice you have to push a button for it to heat the water, which happens instantly. I advised Gabe that the water was pretty chilly, and his brilliant self got it working like it should. I guess that's what I get for showering first. I laugh about it now, but it was the quickest shower I've ever taken LOL!

The BTS skytrain worked like a champ, and plopped us directly in the city just three blocks from out next hotel. Ohh, the Pullman King Power! I loved every bit of this hotel from the refreshing drinks upon arrival and checkin process where we were to not get up while the friendly gal took care of the rest. The Thai attentiveness was unlike anything we've ever seen.

And, I owe all the success to TripAdvisor and Agoda (hotel booking in Asia) because we were thoroughly impressed with not only our first hotel but especially our second. It was just incredible to see the grounds of this place. Check out that pool!!! :)

This was one of the things we were most looking forward to as I had read all about it. One might wonder how sanitary it is or how long it has been sitting out, etc but we went with our gut (*I had Imodium, Pepto, and antibiotics for backup). Then, we had to go by looks as the gal didn't speak really any English. I later got Gabe eating his meal on video as it was SO spicy and he was sweating profusely from the kick and gulping water. He said it was worth it though, but it would have been equivalent to like 10star in the states!

And to finalize our second night in Bangkok, we grabbed dinner at a local spot that apparently was THE place for Westerns to meet their Thai ladies. We sadly watched probably 20 transactions take place, and honestly makes you sick. Very eye opening for us ...

Getting to Thailand: Day 1&2

***These next handful of posts regarding Thailand will be meant especially for us and family: My plan is to document all the ins and outs of our trip so we can look back on them later and reminisce our trip oversees.

The Seattle Smith's pulled an "ALL-NIGHTER" to get our bodies acclimated as much as possible to the Thailand time zone prior to our flight leaving at 2pm. It was the funniest memory looking back on it now as I type this considering Gabe and I brewed coffee at almost midnight to make it through the wee hours. I must give huge credit to Gabe for this idea as it really worked brilliantly, and something I wish we did last year when we traveled to Australia. It was so important to us to get our body clocks adjusted, so we wouldn't be dead beat tired once arriving.

Dotted my i's, crossed my t's regarding trip planning, now we are just besides ourselves with excitement as our journey to Thailand begins. Hubs and I each packed in ONE normal size carry on suitcase each for ease of travel along with a backpack for Gabe and shoulder-bag for myself. I still can't believe we condensed so for a 16day trip!!

Our first leg was the longest to Seoul Icheon, a 12hr nonstop!

We landed at Seoul Incheon and couldn't believe the size of this airport as it is one of the largest and busiest airports in the world. And I must mention, it has a golf course, spa, private sleeping rooms, ice skating rink, a casino, indoor gardens, and a Museum of Korean Culture. Say WHAT!!

And, one of the most interesting things we noticed at the airport and not any other time throughout our trip ... was couples in matching outfits. I am not sure if it is only common in Korea, but after the 30th couple in 2hrs, I had to sneakily document it. Being a tourist, I can now do things like this!

We arrived in Bangkok around midnight at the Survarnabhumi Airport - the 3rd busiest in Asia. To say we were overwhelmed is an understatement as there was a lot going on at once. First goal was to get their currency, Thai Bhat, and our debit card wouldn't work at the ATM. Secondly, we were clueless on where to catch our pre-arranged shuttle with not a lot of help with the language barrier. Yes ... the adventure begins, and we loved every bit of it!!!!

Finally, after 24 hours of travel, customs, and a shuttle down many many dark alleys ... we made it to our quaint little hotel. I didn't get to snap a picture, so here is one from their website. We chose to stay by the airport at Floral Shire and trek into the city in the light the following day. It would serve it's purpose solely for 5hrs of sleep and then we had Bangkok exploring to do!

I'm already thinking 'which one will I choose for our Christmas card!'

It's unbelievable to think it's already that time of year to start shopping, traveling, and creating holiday memories. I must say, Shutterfly makes it super easy, convenient, and the end result is always exactly what I expected. And, I can't wait to use them again this year, as I was really happy with our experience last year using them.

I am loving either of these thus far ....

And, I am even more anxious to compile our trip into a photobook!

Maybe hubs will be in charge of that.

How has this month flown by?!

Well, I had no intent to take this much time away from my blog, but it has been very needed to get back into our routines. Funny how life continues on when sometimes you just want it to pause at certain moments in time. I really am so excited to document our stories and share about our most recent travels, and I promise to start that this week.

It's an overwhelming feeling coming back to the states, to to the place you call home, to recognize how beyond blessed we are. And, it doesn't get more surreal than spending time in a developing country to get a little wake up call that the stresses that weigh me down are often so trivial. I'm thankful, so thankful!

Our Cuisinart coffee pot from our wedding registry is now 5 years old and is on it's last leg. I am becoming more of a hippy and granola gal by the second. Maybe not fully, but I told myself when I moved from Texas that I would never drive a Subaru. Well, now I do and am totally in love with the practicality of it being in the PNW.

Now, Keens. Me-oh-my. These just make me laugh. I just purchased my first pair of Keens (and have yet to pull off the tag as they are a slight stretch for me) from REI as Seattleites swear by them. And, in all honesty they will be perfect for my trekking in Thailand. That will be the real test ;) I was modeling them for Gabe last night, and he said I looked like a triathlete with them in addition to my attire.

Bam, they are intense. I've been told after hiking, camping, and doing anything in water, i will never go back. Those "granola" gals got nothing on me .... As I will never wear them with socks. Yes, many do!!!

Seattle Adventure Run

Hello Seattleites, if you haven't heard already, Road Runner Sports in Seattle hosts an "Adventure Run!" that is too good to pass up on. The first Thursday of every month, Greenlake ... 6pm.

It's a fun, hour long run that involves maps, music, strategy, and meeting hundreds of fellow Seattle runners. The goal is to make it to as many checkpoints around the greater Greenlake area and obtain tickets to enter into the raffle. Then, a drawing takes place for gift certificates to local businesses and running gear. The best part, IT'S FREE!!!

BUT I mean "maid" as in cleaning lady!

My mom was a rockstar while growing up and still to this day being solely responsible for the cleaning around the house. Dad definitely helped out, but she took on the task majority or the time. Then, on the other hand, my brother and I only had to do chores when company was coming in town. And because of this, cleaning does not come easy to me nor is it at all enjoyable. I am toying with the thought of paying someone to come 1-2x a mth considering hubby and I are super busy, work full time, and most of all don't really enjoy it. Oh what to do, what to do.

I try to get all my grocery goodies from TJ because let's be honest, they have everything at such a resonable price. Move over Central Market because my go-to items at TJ are always spicy hummus, dips, fruit, veggies, chips, nuts, salad, wine, and desserts. AND, the best part of my shopping experience is snagging a baby cup of coffee and sampling a taster that I most often am lured into buying.

Secondly, on a more serious note, did you hear about the Indiana State Fair collapsing at the Sugarland concert? This is the most terrifying video and just shocking as you can tell people didn't know what to do. Can you even imagine? SEAFAIR '11

Friends and Lake Washington ... sums up Seafair in Seattle pretty well! Then add the Blue Angles show to top it off as an experience for sure. We had the most wonderful weekend soaking up the sun, hanging out with friends, and enjoying our time with each other. We couldn't have asked for anything more.

This was the first of the last five years

that we got to see the Blue Angels show 3x ... Incredible to see the fly directly over you!

We were at a party next door to Chantel's parents house where they filmed last year, so I had to take a pic. She was out on the deck the following day with her new boyfriend who is supposedly much cuter than Brad. And, yes, they have a man-made beach :)

Now, I just wish I had a day to catch up on my sleep .... and get out of my food coma from Salty's brunch on Alki. It was probably the most impressive buffet I have ever been to, and with a price tag of $44.95 we all tried to get our moneys worth!!

Seafair, always a Seattleites' favorite, sad to see you come and go so fast,

but Gabe and I sure did enjoy the THREE DAYS of fun!

Sheltered without Cable

I went to college without ever having TV be any importance of my life ....

Instead of TV, I worked, studied, and soaked up being a "kid" ...

Oddly, my parents didn't get cable until I left for college ....

and I vow to never have a TV in the bedroom ...

Now is where I share that I am a reality TV junkie.

I fill my life with so many other great things that I'm okay with it admiting it, but sometimes I should probably quit adding more to my TiVo! Although, it brings me joy and enjoy watching most of it with hubs.

Rachel's 9th Birthday Wish

This past Wednesday, there was an awful 14 vehicle pileup on I-90 ....

An absolute tragedy with a semi, a logging truck, and so many others

that became the talk of my city for days.

The sweet 9 year old girl attended my church, Eastlake Community Church, and before her tragic death, word spread about her birthday fundraising wish: She had a campaign to raise $300 for clean water in developing nations instead of giving her birthday gifts. She was $80 short of her goal, but confidently told her family that she was going to work harder and raise more money for her 10th birthday. That takes maturity, let alone from a young kid :)

Her life was ended early here on earth, but her legend will live on because she has touched, inspired, and changed the lives of thousands. ALL by a sweet 9 year old girl who had hope for the world to help others.

The $220 has skyrocketed to $230,000 and is climbing by the minute.

The Sun Showed Up!

Seattle is currently home of the 78 minute summer .... Quite depressing when you think about it. So far in 2011, there has been 78 minutes of 78 degree + weather. How is that possible? BUT, I will take it to not deal with the 100 degree weather in TX like my poor family. Too hot, too hot!

Gabe and I had a lovely date night at Chateau Ste Michelle Friday night doing a reserve wine tasting with three couples --- What an experience. We are by no means wine connoisseurs, but are developing our palates one tasting at a time!

Saturday was filled will a day at the pool. Perfection.

Then shopping at Uvillage and dinner at Sonrisa Modern Mex.

Nom nom nom :) This was Gabe's enchilada. Pretty right?

AND, I spilled an entire margarita on the rocks IN MY LAP, kurplunk (sp)!

Sunday was the absolute best. We played hooky from church and jetted up north to Oak Harbor, WA to go to Deception Pass. Oh heaven on earth this place is fabulous. If you visit Seattle, make the drive up here.

Then, we were hungry hikers and made our way to Sweet D's Shrimp Shack. It was a fun drive-up restaurant that had been there since 1904. I had popcorn shrimp (yum) and Gabe ate an Oyster Burger (I'm not an oyster gal' but he devoured it). Check this place out if you live in the area!

The owner treated us to huge local prawns :) What a treat!

Seattle decided to cooperate and produce a weekend with lots of sun.

So we accounted for lots of time outdoors to soak it in :)

It feels like we have been on the go and haven't had a second to breathe. Our most recent adventure was to Crescent Bar with an incredible group of friends. I must say it was one of my most fun weekend getaways because everyone had so much in common and everyone got along perfectly. I love that the vacation spot is just shy of 3 hours away, east of Seattle where it get much warmer, and a perfect spot where you feel far, far, far, away. 20 of us filled a 3 bedroom place with air-mattresses everywhere. I will let the photos document the weekend for me :)

Orange Beach, AL

I took on the task for the Smith's of finding a house for a summer getaway, and VRBO (Vacation Rental By Owner) made it easy breezy. Have ya'll used this site before? If not, I highly recommend it. We got so lucky with a house to hold us all comfortably, in a gated community, and just 2 miles outside of Orange Beach. We thought tourism was down as we had a private beach and the restaurants right down the road weren't packed during prime summer, and we found out on the second or third day that we were on the outskirt of the craziness. This ended up being a huge blessing since we didn't have to deal with the crowds.

Speaking of crowds and after driving into Orange Beach .... I learned quickly that LA, also known as Lower Alabama, for the southerners is a hot spot for family vacations. And, I must say Orange Beach was a hit with ours as well. Gabe spent many years vacationing at Gulf Shores, and Orange Beach was the next city over which I didn't even know when planning the trip. Thanks to Facebook and people who recently vacationed there for the recommendation :)

We heard all about Lulu's in Gulf Shores (Jimmy Buffet's sisters restaurant) and there was a 2hr wait for dinner, so we came back the following day for a wee-bit shorter wait of 1hr.

Overall, the Smith Family is already looking forward to a summer trip again next summer. Except this time next year, we will have a 7 mth old nephew with us as my brother and sister in law are preggers - Yay Yay!

Red, White, and Blue

The Fourth of July was always a special celebration with my grandparents anniversary on the 4th, my brothers birthday on the 6th, and my birthday three days later on the 9th. It meant more the merrier of family and friends, sparklers, flag cakes, and fun.

Still to this day it is one of my favorite holidays :)
